Stayed at the Brocket Arms earlier this month on the bank holiday weekend whilst attending a wedding in the area. Very historic building and a fantastic room (the one with the 4 poster bed directly over the bar). Very friendly staff, especially the owner (Mr Solanki) who was the epitome of a good host - nothing was too much trouble... More

Stayed away for three nights after discovering this pretty village when passing through last year. Friendly staff and warm welcome. Room clean and comfortable, v. Peaceful. Food good but a bit more flexibility with menu would be apprecIated and if items are not available then they should be taken off menu. Food that we had declined arrived and items we... More

Londoners! Don't come to Norfolk... Stay at the Brocket Arms... it is on your doorstop and it is truly a gem of a traditional village pub: warm welcome from Bhup & Rachel, comfortable rooms, delicious meals, open fires and even a tame Jazz band at the weekend. Went home rejuvenated (to Norfolk).

Bar - very authentic old fashined pub. Good bar menu and jolly staff. Room - pretty plain but free wifi and comfortable bed. Good sleep. Breakfast - excellent, good coffee and lovely scrambled eggs.

The Brocket Arms has recently had a long awaited referbishment. The bar was cosy with lit fires and great atmosphere. The beer was beautifully kept and our companions enjoyed the St Austell guest beers. We were also pleased to see Adnams Broadside on sale too. The restaurant was a little cold for 8pm and lacked the warm atmosphere of the... More

The hotel is delightful, our room was beutiful with everything you could want in it, having stayed at a few hotels in the area over the years I can confidently say the price is comparable to anywhere else. The pub is a perfect place to relax, with a lovely friendly atmosphere. The couple who run it are fantastic and can't... More

I often visit the lovely Brocket Arms in the beautiful village of Ayot St. Lawrence in Hertfordshire. Besides a very warm welcome, great food and drink the pub is a rustic country pub very close to local attractions of Ayot House, a ruined Norman church, a Palladian church and the home of George Bernard Shaw, Shaw's Corner. Best of all... More
