After reading several reviews we decided to try The Bulls Head Pub for an evening meal while we were staying overnight nearby. The whole experience was excellent. The bar staff were amazingly friendly and efficient. The menu was very varied and the prices extremely reasonable. I chose two items from the appetizer menu rather than a larger main meal. The... Hale Barns seems a very posh suburb of Manchester - all Mock Tudor and 4-wheel drives. The pub seemed very appealing, though noisy at the time of our arrival (11 pm). Fortunately, the Lodge is separated from the pub by a large carpark, and was quiet. Our reception was excellent - very helpful and friendly staff, and we had all... More

Stayed here night before flying, it was remembrance Sunday and the pub had been very busy with Sunday lunches so they were only serving pizzas at night, I'm pleased they were as I wouldn't have chose pizza off the menu but it was delicious! Always made to feel welcome in this pub which is nice. Our room in the lodge... More

We stayed here for 7 nights when visiting family and friends, the location was ideal for both Manchester Airport and the motorway. Our room was lovely and quiet, good wifi connection, quite basic, but cleaned every day and fine for our needs. There were no complimentary toiletries in our room apart from liquid soap in a dispenser. We ate in... More

We went for sunday lunch which was very nice. The guys serving the food and the lady clearing the tables were great and very friendly, which cannot be said about the 2 bar men, who were positively rude and let the place down. Took ages to get served and even had to ask for glasses for the drinks !!!

Great location, very near Manchester Airport. Ready for revamp , rumour of £1.4m refurb in new year .. Clean and great quality , just tired ! However ... Hot scotch egg and brown sauce bar snack , excellent and soup homemade. Good now, I'm sure after revamp... Will be great!

About 10 miles from the airport (a GPS really help!) Only a few small problems overall – I couldn't link up with the wifi and they promised help that never came, the trouser press didn't work and they have these really flimsy shower curtains that the slightest breeze wraps round you; however the shower itself is great. Other than that... More

Booked the Bulls Head & Lodge for an overnight stay close to Manchester Airport. The lodge accommodation is very clean and tidy, two storey (no lift) very quiet even though you are very close to the airport. Plenty of off street parking. Next door is the Bulls Head pub, which also serves meals and were you can also have breakfast. I... More

We stayed here overnight prior to flying to Lisbon early the next day and were very impressed with everything at the Bulls Head. The accommodation is luxurious, the staff very pleasant and the adjoining pub was excellent for both food and beers. We were sad that we had to leave so early the next morning. Great stopover for the airport... More

We stayed overnight in the area, as we were visiting friends, and weren't looking for anything special, as the criteria was that we were near to where we wanted to be, and it was convenient for taxis, etc. The receptionist was fantastic, very helpful and efficient, offering to order a taxi for us, and whilst polite and professional, she was...
