I booked this hotel for one night for myself for a match night at Old Trafford. On arrival I thought the place was closed-down: the doors were locked, the place was in darkness and it all looked a bit drab. In fairness, I'd arrived at 4pm and the booking advised check-in after 5pm. That said, for a pub / hotel... More

I rarely book a disaster of a hotel ...but I have to be totally honest about this one. Whilst I must point out that the owner manager was a jolly and friendly chap...as well as his staff...to include the lovely lady who was the chambermaid, the state of the hotel was dreadful. The room itself, a double and single bed... More

Cheap. Room was clean and tidy. Noisey from regular trams passing by the window until very late. Window blinds did not stop the street lighting from coming in. Suggest if you stay here that you use ear plugs and an eye mask!!

After looking through the reviews, were a bit sceptical about booking this hotel, but we found the Barrington Hotel was just right for what we needed. Rooms were clean with fresh towels. Just a two minute walk from metro and trains. Within a short walk into Altrincham town. Would definitely stay again a we were able to catch train into... More

Firstly I thought the hotel ( pub ) had closed down when I got there. I booked a cheap & cheerful room for 1 night as my wife was in hospital for an operation & I needed somewhere to stay overnight ... It was cheap but certainly not cheerful! Stains running down the walls & on the blinds, ripped, peeling... More

We used this hotel to go watch a football match in Manchester with my grown up son. Great location for the tram 100yrds away. Only £3.60 return to Old Trafford on the tram. It's basic but clean. I asked we checked in at 4pm rather than 5pm that was no problem. So I have no complaints for my £45.00 twin... More

I'd read mixed reviews but thought i'd chance it as it was only for 1 night for me and the girlfriend. I was very surprised by what I found. Upstairs is bit of a maze but the room was ofadequate size, en-suite with a microwave and electric cooker. The TV didn't work though we could to the menu part. The... More

I must admit I had reservations about staying here, but would probably stay here agais. The main things in it's favour are the rooms ar comfortable and warm if a bit small, and proximity to tram station Spoke to the new owner while, and he seems to have plans to modernise. If you want somewhere cheap for a short stay, you... More

Stayed for one night on Friday 4th January 2012. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Nice clean room, bathroom and comfy bed. Very quiet also, so got a peaceful night's sleep. Very cheap compared to other hotels I'd looked at in the nearby area. If you're looking for a hotel on a budget, it is well worth the money. A... More

I must say this hotel did not even have the decency to reply to me directly. I am also going to the consumer council, the liquor board the AA and the Hotel Chamber Of commerce and am going to officially lodge a complaint. I called the hotel just after 8pm and asked the lady how easy is it to get... More
