Cheap. Room was clean and tidy. Noisey from regular trams passing by the window until very late. Window blinds did not stop the street lighting from coming in. Suggest if you stay here that you use ear plugs and an eye mask!!

After looking through the reviews, were a bit sceptical about booking this hotel, but we found the Barrington Hotel was just right for what we needed. Rooms were clean with fresh towels. Just a two minute walk from metro and trains. Within a short walk into Altrincham town. Would definitely stay again a we were able to catch train into... More

Firstly I thought the hotel ( pub ) had closed down when I got there. I booked a cheap & cheerful room for 1 night as my wife was in hospital for an operation & I needed somewhere to stay overnight ... It was cheap but certainly not cheerful! Stains running down the walls & on the blinds, ripped, peeling... More

We used this hotel to go watch a football match in Manchester with my grown up son. Great location for the tram 100yrds away. Only £3.60 return to Old Trafford on the tram. It's basic but clean. I asked we checked in at 4pm rather than 5pm that was no problem. So I have no complaints for my £45.00 twin... More

I'd read mixed reviews but thought i'd chance it as it was only for 1 night for me and the girlfriend. I was very surprised by what I found. Upstairs is bit of a maze but the room was ofadequate size, en-suite with a microwave and electric cooker. The TV didn't work though we could to the menu part. The... More

I must admit I had reservations about staying here, but would probably stay here agais. The main things in it's favour are the rooms ar comfortable and warm if a bit small, and proximity to tram station Spoke to the new owner while, and he seems to have plans to modernise. If you want somewhere cheap for a short stay, you... More

Stayed for one night on Friday 4th January 2012. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Nice clean room, bathroom and comfy bed. Very quiet also, so got a peaceful night's sleep. Very cheap compared to other hotels I'd looked at in the nearby area. If you're looking for a hotel on a budget, it is well worth the money. A... More

I must say this hotel did not even have the decency to reply to me directly. I am also going to the consumer council, the liquor board the AA and the Hotel Chamber Of commerce and am going to officially lodge a complaint. I called the hotel just after 8pm and asked the lady how easy is it to get... More

Bearing in mind, I booked this place purely because we were on a budget and needed a bed for the night south of Manchester, we weren't disapointed. I was doing a triathlon in Cheshire Sunday morning and we have family in Manchester so Altrincham was the perfect location and due to the proximity to the metrolink the Barrington Hotel was... More

Looks like from other reviews they have refurbished. I stayed in room 6, decent size ,comfortable bed, very clean, big bath tub, powerful shower. The hotel is really a pub with rooms but I have stayed in a lot worse than this and a lot more expensive . Staff friendly and refurbished bar. Will certainly be back. Very comfortable.
