Great location for our coach party, right in centre of lovely Aberdeenshire town. Hotel very basic but good bed and adequate if noisy room. Washbasin by window of main street, so I had to close curtains before using it. Also, wall paper torn and missing by window. Sittings for dinner which was ok but quick in and out of dining... more

The Loirston Hotel may not be a luxury hotel but if you are looking for basic but clean rooms, simple but delicious food, and a convenient location in the middle of a pretty Deeside town, then you can't go far wrong. The waiting staff are quietly efficient and very fast - there's almost no wait between courses (almost too fast!),... more

The rooms are basic and we were not sure if the pillow cases were clean. Dinner was served very quickly from a limited, pre-prepared, selection. Serving, eating and clearing away the starter and main course within 30 minutes does not make for relaxed dining. We tried the bar after dinner but we were the only customers and it was gloomy... more

My husband is disabled and the first view I got of the Loiriston was the front stairs. Yes they had a ramp, but if you were not fit I think you would have struggled. I had the disabled room!!! OK but really the bathroom catered for people who could stand and move about, not what I would call disabled access.... more

Our Children booked us in for two nights bed, breakfast and evening meal for our 25th Anniversary. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned but on arrival my concerns were dismissed! We found the Loirston to be quaint, some may say old fashioned but we thought quaint!, cosy, very clean and the food very good. The... more

My Mum and I had a short break away for 2 nights in Feb 2008. It was fairly cheap at £21 dbb pnpp so we didn't really have high expectations. However have to admit it wasn't bad at all. The room had plenty of space and the toilet was large with a shower and a bath. It wasn't top class... more
