We stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights the room was immaculate but got very cold as there was no central heating on in the room. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts were delicious the service was excellant, we did not have dinner in the hotel as they did not start serving till 7 a bit late for... more

We stayed for two nights and found the owners very welcoming. The hotel was comfortable clean and in a great location. It was really unfortunate there was work being carried out in the conservatory dining area and bar. We had dinner and breakfast twice, the food was excellent and the ingredients were obviuosly top quality. The suasage and bacon used... more

Thank you for the review. We are lucky that Scotland has the most amazing supply of fresh game, fish and other produce which we take advantage of in the restaurant so it is always nice to see it is appreciated. We are pleased to say that the emergency repairs that we had to carry out in the bar/lounge area are...

This is a really nice, small hotel, and I would highly recommend it for anyone considering a day or two, or more, in the general Deeside area. We had a lovely room on the second floor, decorated in hunter green with dark wood furniture, small flat panel TV, walk-in closet, roomy bathroom with shower over tub, and a skylight. There... more

Having read a previous review regarding room allocation I have to agree with the owner's response. At the last minute we decided on an Easter jaunt to Ballater. Our usual port of call was fully booked, so found The Deeside Hotel's website & gave them a call. The owner informed me very clearly that all they had left was one... more

Stayed there for 4 nights in late september 2007 together with my wife, while we were walking the countryside and fishing the river Dee. Nice, little hotel; close to the "town center" ;charming and helpful hostess,;good food; clean; quiet; the room OK, but nothing special though. Overall a good impression. Perfect location for exploring "Royal Deeside". more

We stayed 2 nights at the Deeside Hotel over a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious, clean and had historical character. The whole hotel was really cosy and welcoming. We especially thought the service was excellent, extremely helpful while still restrained. The food was also really great quality, especially dessert which was perhaps the best... more

21st July 2007 for two nights. My husband and I thought that this was a charming hotel. Our room was lovely with a four poster bed. The shower room was a little bit on the small side but appreciate that the age of the building probably dictates what can be done to the space available, it was perfectly adequate. The... more

OK, wouldn't go back, overpriced in my view, especially the evening meal which was dull. Interesting allocation of rooms too - we had our young son in a cot squeezed into the corner of a small double room with shower only whereas a single chap appeared to have collared a family room! He was obviously a regular but even so,... more

The hotel is a converted Victorian house and our bedrooms do vary in size. We are sorry that the reviewer was disappointed with the size of the room but it was only booked the day beforehand in a very busy period and they were advised that this was all that was available. If any customers do require a cot we...

We stayed at the Deeside Hotel for one night on a Sunday night to get away from Aberdeen on a local holiday weekend. They do a deal of £65 per person for DB&B. The rooms were nice and clean. The food was excellent. We were surprised when we went for our evening meal as we thought that the dinner deal... more

I can highly recommend this beautiful hotel. The service and attention to detail that I was greeted with by the excellent hosts Gordon and Penella, was second to none. An excellent and varied menu each day, served with a smile and culinary flair. It was clear that the food served was made from fresh local produce. The breakfasts were also... more
