We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B, it was complete luxury after 2 days of camping. Not only were the rooms modern and clean but the staff were also more than helpful, particularly when they helped me clear away some broken glass from the bottle of prosecco that I managed to drop at my car. The breakfast was one... More

We had a great weekend stay at the Auld Kirk. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and serve a first rate breakfast with several options- much more than you would usually expect. The rooms are very nice, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Definitely recommended!

On our recent trip to Scotland, we had the great pleasure of staying at The Auld Kirk Hotel for four nights. Peter, Tony, and Lisa could not have made us feel more welcome. This is a place that pays attention to detail and the accommodations are top notch. The room we stayed in (#3), was roomy and the bathroom was... More

Lovely place to stop off on Deeside. The transformation from church to smartly presented B&B/hotel has been tastefully handled. My room was both comfy and had good quality accessories and decor including old pew ends masquerading as bedside tables! A beauty of a breakfast to top it off too.

we visited this hotel on the 3rd April with family on holiday from Australia and found the whole experience to be excellent. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was served by an incredibly bubbly and friendly lady who ensured that we were all entirely satisfied with the delicious food provided. We fully intend to return to this... More

Booked the whole hotel from Thursday until Sunday for my 60th birthday celebrations and was certainly not disappointed. Service and food excellent -it was absolutely fantastic. The breakfasts were so delicious and we could eat at whatever time we chose. Would certainly highly recommend.

The Auld Kirk is certainly good and the breakfast is excellent but it is not cheap and we were disappointed to find that they had decided to stop running the restauarant for dinner (the current Lonely Planet guide still says it is " a 6 bedroom restaurant with rooms").

We stayed at the Auld Kirk hotel as Ballater is in a good place to access the Braemar Gathering. The hotel itself is a few minutes walk from Ballater town centre which is great to mooch around. The room was a good size and the bed really comfy. Everyone that we came into contact with was so helpful and the... More

We stayed here recently for just one night. The situation of the Auld Kirk is quiet but very convenient, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Ballater. The room was very comfortable and could not be faulted for cleanliness. The ensuite was a good size, and the shower had great pressure. The breakfast was really excellent - lots... More
