We visited the Alexandra Hotel 29th January 2015 for an evening meal. The Hotel is spotless and the welcome from Fiona was very warm and as it turned out her knowledge and advice was invaluable. We had the 8oz sirloin steak and the haddock and chips and I can honestly say that the meals were superb and very good value.... More

Nine of us had an excellent meal in the restaurant at the end of October on the last night of our holiday . The food was cooked to perfection and very good value for money [those who had steaks said they were cooked to perfection whether rare, medium/rare or medium]. There was a good range for all courses, including those... More

This is a centrally located hotel in one of the most beautiful towns in the Highlands. It's a wee bit shabby but the rooms were spotless, the shower was warm and powerful, and the breakfast was fantastic. We didn't have dinner there - we went to the incredible Indian on the Green - but the bar was quite nice despite... More

Popped into the pub when on short break at Ballater. Really enjoyed it - descent drink, fair prices, excellent surroundings, wifi, large screen TV and, most importantly, friendly and helpful people working behind there. Would certainly call in again if in the area. Thoroughly recommended.

Ì was on a training weekend at Balmoral and I was accommodated at this hotel. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and accomodating as I required a breakfast earlier than usual, they were happy to provide this. I am also a Coeliac and they had GF rolls available for me. I only slept at this Hotel and I... More

This hotel is my idea of the perfect place to stay. Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. My mum and I were enjoying a very special trip to the area which was enhanced further by this wonderful hotel and its beautiful location. Excellent value for money with very excellent food and a tasty breakfast. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay. The rooms are perfectly clean, very cosy and even next to a road wonderfully calm. Behind over the bridge and in the nice village itself nice places to go for a walk. Breakfast with cereals, fruit, different juices, fresh toast and lots of different cooked options to choose from. Tasted lovely. All people very very nice... More

Put simply this is a great little hotel. The rooms were cozy, quiet and simple. The bar and restaurant - buzzing with people and the food was hearty. The location is perfect with lovely walks along the Dee and around the village. But the staff...very welcoming in and friendly. Well worth the meander into the countryside!

I decided to take my husband on a surprise weekend away for some heart to heart chat and chill out time and this family run hotel was ideal. We left Aberdeen in dreadful weather and it took us much longer to get to than we had anticipated due to snow however the staff aware that we may be late stayed... More

Thank you so much for for taking the time to write this review. I really enjoyed chatting to you both and hearing about your father, who had lived in the village. The team were happy to stay and make sure you had a hot meal after a long journey in the snowy conditions. we all look forward to welcoming you... More
