We've stayed here a few times so far. The bunkhouse is definitely deserving of its high rating. Very clean, modern, eco-friendly. Wood burner in the lounge area makes the place very cosy and there's plenty of games, books and info. The private rooms are a bonus too and very reasonably priced.

Just back from fourth visit and really can't fault this place it is brilliant especially for families. The only downside is it raises expectations of how good other hostels could be! All the luxury you might expect in a b+b but with access to a kitchen and none of the slightly awkward feeling of being in someone else's house.

Very comfy bedroom and lounge, modern, spotless, great location, super-cheap, nice staff, lots of cutlery, pans, coffee/tea and other necessities in the kitchen, and even books, dvds and information about walks in the area. Some 'less positive' points: - the lack of natural light - you can hear everything in the house, from noisy people going in and out of... More

Stayed here the 27th and 28th June 2014. Excellent place. Clean, tidy, comfortable beds, bedding supplied. Nice big TV in the lounge/kitchen area which was handy for viewing the World Cup. Broadband and wi fi available. Couple of large fridges and other storage plus plenty kitchen utensils. Coffee and tea supplied by the hostel. On street parking available close to... More

Free cake when I arrived (don't know if this is the norm, or there was some special occasion), great showers, well equipped kitchen with plenty of fridge space, two sockets by each bunk for charging your gadgets, cosy lounge with wifi, roomy dorm. I'm trying to think of a negative to provide a bit of balance, but really I can't.... More

We booked in to this bunkhouse for 3 days and left feeling like we could have stayed even longer. The rooms were kitted out with the most comfortable bunk beds we have slept in and the double sockets at each bed were a great bonus. The key cards for the rooms was a great idea and the issuing of one... More

I have stayed here twice now & despite being tagged as a hostel it is like a home from home! The kitchen is a well equipped industrial type kitchen with lots of cooking utensils to allow you to cook a lovely meal. The communal living area is the only area you get wifi but I suppose that make people actually... More

My daughter took us here and it was very nice. We got a room for 4 with a private en suite. All their rooms have them, with the main difference being how many beds each room has. The location is perfect, though ion such a small town, I doubt if there's a bad location. Everything is clean and bright. The... More

I haven't stayed in bunkhouses/youth hostels for 30 years and last year arranged to meet old school pals for a skiing weekend to celebrate our 50th. We got a four bedded room with en suite facilities for £20 per night each. Kitchen and living room area is great with lovely wood burner keeping the place warm. I have now been... More

This has to be the absolute BEST Hostel I have ever stayed in! Excellent facilities, log fire and even a TV in my room! Room very clean, complete with en suite. Liked the idea of having the freedom to come In late.
