We were only there for a meal. The setting is lovely and it has recently been refitcted and the restaurant is crowded but pleasantliy fitted, Well thats the good stuff! The food was ovevrpriced, and poor quality, we went for a special occasion being it was recently reeopened and were very disapointed. The food was variable My wifes steak was... more

Stayed one night with a colleague from Germany. The hotel I would describe as more of a pub with rooms. But that does not deflect from the fact that we found our stay excellent. First of all the rooms have just been refurbished in chic boutique style - I had 104 - a good size admittedly no view from the... more

We booked the last twin room at the weekend which just happened to be their disabled facilities room. Not a problem as you normally just get a larger bathroom with a few modifications. However the room is located in the carpark with the smokers table and chairs right outside the front door (not a good first impression). On entering we... more

My partner and I stayed there on a sat as we were attending a friend's wedding at the Swan Hotel down the road. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely and charming the hotel was as from the outside, it looks like a average pub! The rooms were spacious and the decor is fantastic - very modern. The staff are... more

The Embankment Hotel is in a prime location on the banks of the river Great Ouse. When I booked this a few weeks ago, I was told it would be a room on the side. I was assured that there would be no noise from extractor fan etc. Meanwhile the hotel changed hands and we found ourselves in a room... more

This hotel has some positives and negatives. The carpets could use a good cleaning, and the bar downstairs was really noisy with music until about 10:30 pm. On the postive side, the staff was extremely helpful and kind -- they even let me do a late checkout at no charge. The room itself was generously large and well appointed, though... more

This is possibly one of the worst hotels that I have had to stay in. The photograph which they advertise the property on their website is some 16 years old and not indicative of whatit is really like. The hotel reception smells, is in need of a good clean and the receptionist's manners quite awful. The rooms are well overdue... more

Great Hotel, Luckily we got a great room overlooking the river, compared to some of the other wedding guests (thats why we were there). The room was large with high ceilings, a large bathroom and a gorgeous metal bed. There was also a single bed there which was very handy due to the wedding. Everything was there, eg; drinks, towels... more

The Embankment Hotel has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The bedroom looked like something from the 50's and this was probably when it was last decorated, the bathroom resembled a prison bathroom, paint was flaking off everywhere and was as ancient as the rest of the decor. The maid in the morning entered our room... more
