Mother and I taking time out of our busy day to relax on the swans terrace is just what we needed. A fine spot for a light snack and relaxing in the sunshine. Paid for car parking but this is reimbursed when spending over £10 in the hotel, which is easily done when there are two of you.

The hotel is situated in the center of town, next to Nan-dos, Mc Donald's, Tesco Express and on the canal front. The staff is very courteous and helpful with a good spread for breakfast. The rooms unfortunately do not have Wifi, and only have a wired internet access. There is however free wifi in the lobby and restaurent area.

Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionists at the Swan. When my sister and I wanted to change our double room for a twin room they simply gave us a key and asked us to go and see if that room was suitable...it was. Stayed here last weekend with my partner was really nice. Didn't try the spa/pool but did look amazing when we had a peer through the door. Navigating the different staircases and lifts to find your room is a bit confusing. really nice reception and bar area, and coridoors. Everything was really clean, very comfortable bed. Visited the terrace bar for an afternoon drink with family after driving and walking past frequently thinking what a great setting it is. We visited here this last weekend with friends and on arrival it took almost half an hour to get a parking space - which we then learned we had to pay £5 for the privilege - not a good start. Nice hotel on the riverside with friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable though it was a little disappointing to discover that it was in a modern extension block and just like many other hotel rooms; the photographs are all of the original front part which does not show this extension. Excellent location with lovely walks by the river.
