With work I stay in travelodges all over the company and this is by far the best. Previous stays here though have left me feeling still tired from the night before but they've replaced the beds, rooms are cleaner, staff are friendlier. The lady on reception Monday was helpful and even the cleaners in the morning were nice and chatty.... More

Booked in here the night before my partners triathlon due to an early start. Was not planning on spending any time other than sleeping so booked the cheapest room we could find, and we got what we paid for! We did not get the room we booked, and were not able to change as it was fully booked. The room... More

We stayed over for one Saturday night recently. The reception is very small (a counter) and not particularly inviting. The staff were pleasant but the hotel does need some refurbishment (supposedly planned according to their web-site). Our impressions weren't helped by the hotel not providing the type of room we had booked and paid for in advance! The room was... More

For a reasonable price what you want and expect is a clean room and decent sleep. The hotel may be a bit run down but the staff are helpful and it is very clean. It was a warmish night but the beds are ok and the windows do open. Is low ranking nearly put me of but I am glad... More

Stayed here for one night, firstly following the travelodge theme no Air Conditioning in the room anymore, the room was stuffy and hot, seriously in need of an update as even the furniture is a throwback to the 50's, room was clean though and staff friendly

Just returned from a two night stay. Clean, comfortable, friendly helpful staff. Due an update as stated when booking but this didn't put me off. New beds needed but everything clean and comfortable. Felt very safe as staying on my own and enjoyed breakfast at the Toby carvery. The wooden doors and handles give the building a rustic charm which no doubt... More

I was seriously impressed by this hotel. Generally I avoid travel lodges thinking of them as the sort of soulless modular hotels you get on the continent sometimes However this was good value for the duration of my stay and some friends were also staying We arrived very late and very tired to a warm friendly reception. It was effortless... More

Great location for our visit with Toby next door for food & drink. Great all you can eat breakfast. Hotel was clean, tidy and we'll maintained. We arrived early and girl on reception was really accommodating allowing us to check in early. On showing us the room she explained due to the heat wave we've been experiencing was causing the... unexpected night's stay. turned up. lady on reception would let me do a walk in - had to book via booking.com (manager's policy at weekend for some strange reason). However, once we'd had a bit of an argument on that one the reception lady and the man (both Polish I think ) were truly super. Gave me the best room... More

We booked as a base for the Tour de France start in Cambridge. We had travelled straight from finishing work and arrived around 8 . The receptionist was efficient and friendly. The room is a little dated with damage to the bathroom door. The room was clean and tidy, and excellent value for money. Would use again if needed a... More
