Up until 2 years ago this wonderful hotel was a regular 'haunt' for me. Following a change of jobs my visits stopped. I was delighted therefore to visit again this week. I hoped it would be as good as I remembered and I am glad to say it was. The hotel has so much character it is a joy to... More

This was my 2nd stay here. The hall is so full of character I quite enjoy it. And the restaurant is excellent. The food is superb, and as my title says, I love Sticky Toffee Pudding and have tried it all over the UK for many years and have never had one as good as Dalston Hall's. The rooms are... More

It's a lovely place, charming, well sited and very atmospheric. But the bed, bedding, lighting, bathroom and fixtures were a bit too worn for me. The restaurant staff were very friendly and I recommend trying the steak if you go there.

We booked the hotel for our wedding night. I am shocked to see all the negative reviews on the management. ALL the staff we met were helpful REALLY HELPFUL. on arrival we were greeted with the biggest smile by a lady called Becky who then went on to make our evening so magical. We stayed in Suite room 1 which... More

Really can't understand the bad reviews . The hotel is a lovely old building steeped in history with loads of character and charm . We stayed in junior suite 4 which had an ornate wooden bed and a fireplace with wood panelling ,for two nights and really enjoyed our stay . The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly... More

Beautiful hotel, let down by the staff and management. We stayed here as a treat to end a road trip we had been on during May and from check in to departure we were completely appalled. Upon arrival we were barely greeted and asked immediately for our payment card. We were not given any information about the hotel and facilities... More

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. Our room was in the turret, full of character and spotlessly clean. We explored the whole building and just loved all the wee windows, gleaming wood, and potential to make it even more so. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault anything. Staff friendly and eager to please. Breakfast... More

Nice old building with a lot of original features. Excellent dinner in the restaurant, both food and service. Some nice quirky aspects to the hotel. Although the new marquee style extension is a high standard, it wrecks the views and ambience of the property and a more sympathetically coloured roof would have been much more appropriate. Breakfast service and food... More

We stayed whilst visiting friends in Armathwaite on 224th May. I think we were lucky there was no wedding on as it meant there was more space and lots of attention from staff. We had dinner in an oak panelled room which probably would have been used by the wedding party. It was good food but I agree the steak... More
