I originally booked to visit this hotel for my husbands 30th birthday. However, due to illness I had to cancel our visit on the day we were meant to check in. The owner very nicely offered us a list of other alternative weekends which we could go instead. On arrival the place looks grand and a perfect place to stop... More

My partner and I stayed in room one, the junior suite, and it was comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff pleasant. Our only gripe was the price. We were not prepared to pay £26 for a steak and I mean just the steak. If you wanted chips, potatoes, seasonal veg etc they were £3 each! We would highly... More

What a beautiful place this is. It was a historical house originally that has been converted into a very cool little hotel. The service is fantastic. Everyone from the owner right down to your waiter are always there to cater to your every need. The rooms (we had room 1) are very comfortable and have all the amenities you would... More

My husband have just returned from a one night stay at Darlston Hall celebrating our anniversary. We have had a really lovely time enjoying what felt like relaxed luxury . The hotel is beautiful...small but the main building is traditional and looks lovely. It was set up as a demo for wedding bookings, I'd have love to have seen it... More

Dalston Hall would be getting four stars if its price structure had been a little more realistic. It isn't really a £130-a-night hotel and the menu is incredibly over-priced - and we live in London! This is an historic hotel, with an interesting past - I'll let you delve further. It's reputed to be a haunted dwelling but if, like... More

My boyfriend and i spent a night here on our way down south. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite as the hotel was not full. This was a lovely gesture and gave a great first impression. The room was very nice with a jacuzzi bath in the corner. The thing about this hotel is that it is... More

My husband and I came here for the weekend on the way to Scotland. The hotel itself is a very beautiful old Manor House/hall with wood paneling and original features. The bedroom (room 7) was much bigger than we expected and had everything we needed. It was modern and well presented. The Do Not Disturb tiger was a great touch... More

What can I say other than what a fantastic place this is. Couldn't wait to explore it as soon as I got inside. Really beautifully done with a good balance of character and modern comfort. The owner was a lovely man, very helpful with the information and history about the place. All the other people we met there were all... More

I have just come back from a short weekend break at this lovely hotel/hall. On arrival, we where amazing with the exterior of the place, and how grand it looked. Its not a huge hall, but its smaller size made it feel more homely and certainly an ideal option for a wedding location! Inside the hall, again, old grand and... More

Our 20th anniversary and we needed something really special and we got it. The place was amazing. So cosy and friendly yet grand and impressive. The staff could not have done more to help. The food was off the chart. We have never eaten stake or lamb cooked so well and properley never will again until we go back, which... More
