The hotel is right by the M6 (J42) giving some traffic noise but nothing too serious even for me. It's a good place to break a long journey but not necessarily a place from which to explore Carlisle. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious - some more furniture to fill the space may make... more

Floor in our room was wet, hopefully just from some water being spilt... We stayed at the back of the hotel and I had a struggle to get to sleep and stay that way. Restaurant was one of these cheap and cheerful places best avoided if you can head out to carlisle more

After along day I decided to break my journey home. I did not have a reservation but this was not a problem and the reception staff were very friendly. I did not have a meal in the bar but did go in for a quick drink. Again the staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The whole place was... more

After a long drive with no booking made in advance,we arrived at this hotel to excellent staff and a large, clean room. We did have an evening meal and although no room service as such, the lovely staff helped us carry it from the restaurant to our room. Thanks again for that. more

I normally stay in another of Carlisle's Hotels, however forgot to make reservation and this was close by with rooms, whilst everything in the hotel is average nothing stands out as special. The rooms are nice, but the food bland the service non attentive and the public areas reminded me of a big pub, basically this is what it is,... more

Stayed here for one night very clean, really comfy bed recently renovated. We did have an issue with noise as we had to open the window during the night as the room was very warm The onsight pub/restaurant is very nice and reasonably priced. All the staff we encountered where exceptionally nice . A good choice. more

We got exactly what we expected - clean& modern room, good service and a great nights sleep. only downside to this hotel chain...you have to pay for wireless internet (boo!) - this location is right off the m6 - very convenient and our room was great. good shower too! more

I had never been to a premier inn before and chose Carlisle South (J42) rather than one of the other two in the town because of the reviews on here. From the outside the three seem to be indistinguishable. The hotel is extremely convenient for the M6 and very easy to find. It has a bedroom block with a separate... more

This place looks like it has been completely refurbished fairly recently - everything new and spotlessly clean. The location is very convenient for breaking up a long motorway journey as it is only a minute's drive from Junction 42 of the M6, but there was no road noise at all. Overall a very comfortable stay. Breakfast is available in the... more
