With reponse to the criticism to the decor we feel very disappointed that a grade 2 listed building which is furnished within the period as far as possible has not to been to your taste. We get wonderful compliments to the warmth,decor,hospitality and food. We hope this does not defer future guests, as satisifed customers far outway anyone who does...
If anybody looking at this review has any doubts regarding going to Crosby Lodge for lunch or dinner, have no fears... This esablishement is wonderffull in every form. The hotel looked lovely on the web, we arrived and were placed in an annexe off the main hotel which smelt musty and appeared to be unkempt, we had asked for a double room but the beds were two single and felt damp, they also did not appear to have been changed since the last occupant left. We stayed in a large room (bigger than the bridal suite) in the center of the building. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom charming. The setting is bucolic. Stayed at Cosby Lodge for the second time. Charming setting. Booked the honeymoon suite for our wedding anniversary in July 2005. Beautiful room and good size overlooking the grounds. The meal was lovely and a good choice of wine list. It was expensive but was worth every penny. Hope to return again. more
We decided that we wanted a nice quiet relaxing Weekend Break, so we booked 2 nights in the Crosby Lodge. We have stayed in other contry hotels within the Lake District so we had high expectations.
