A well run, well organised hotel that has its own individual feel and character. My colleague and I both got 4 poster bedrooms as standard, and the rooms were lovely. Very clean, Very homely feel, and a whirlpool bath! Very attentive waiting staff in the restaurant, and a good menu. Breakfast was also very good. Would recommend. more

Stayed for one night to celebrate a birthday (last minute decision). Staff were very helpful and service by all staff we met was very good. Had our evening meal at the hotel and could not fault the food or service. Handy shopping at the Gretna Outlet and picked up some bargains as a bonus. more

I lived here for almost 6 weeks back in May and June while on a business journey. The rooms vary in size and furnishings but all rooms that I saw were very well maintained. En suite whirlpool was an added bonus after a long cold day at work. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The food is great,... more

We stayed at the Cumbria park one night when returning from a cruise in Southampton. There were no rooms left ( due to Bank Holiday) at the Premier Inn where we had left our car .A very long bus ride due to the increased traffic meant that an overnight stay was desirable. The concierge managed to get us fixed up at the... more

Arrived with friend for one night stay met by the most unhelpful receptionist. Error with booking friend ended up in a broom cupboard at £68 b&b, I had small double with mini double bed for same price. Food average bar food, nearly all staff in evening rude and sullen, morning staff friendlier but breakfast was below par. One for the... more

Hotel was dirty, staff very unprofessional, waitress did not have a clue when asked about menu. Bar staff no where to be seen. and when we finally did get to order, they took about half an hour to bring our drinks to the table. Meal itself was terrible. Would never come back here again, even if it was free. Not... more

dreadful ! Paid over £350 for a queen bed and whirlpool bath and was disgusted , bath was tiny and bed far too small with extremely dated decor! There is no swimming pool despite what the website says and the breakfast was dreadful , sausages were mostly rusk and breakfast staff not interested at all. When I complained about the... more

What can I say arrived after a long and boring journey up the M6, wasnt expecting much from this hotel. The hotel design is a little odd and takes a while to find rooms, but when I found it! wow what a room, huge flatscreen telly jacuzzi-bath room service was excellent, the staff were all brilliant and answered all requests... more

Thank you Jcp744 for your comments. I'm glad we were the light at the end of the M6! The hotel can be like a maze but doesn't take too long to figure out. I'm glad you enjoyed the hotel and our staff, look forward to seeing you in the future. Regards, Mark Lowther, General Manager.

We stayed at the Cumbria Park Hotel in Carlisle England on June 26,2009.At this point we had been travelling for 2 1/2 months. The hotel itself was very charming, and old, which are the traits that we like in a hotel. The room was very comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The consierge that was on duty when we checked in,as well as... more

When offering Bed & Breakfast one should at least be good at one or the other !! Stayed here 2 nights to attend a birthday party nearby. Horrible dingy, noisy, stuffy room with awful dated grubby decor and brown lino on bathroom floor. Weak shower, ghastly bedclothes, ancient creaky soggy bed, horrible mismatched light fittings and a bedside table so... more

Hello Buckstravellers, I'm very sorry to hear about your stay. If you had mentioned about the room the reception team would have been happy to move you. I have spoken to the Head Chef and we are currently looking at changing our breakfast menu, thanks for the comments. Our location isn't something people normally complain about as it's 1.5 miles...
