Booking on-line always involves an element of ^have I picked the best possible option?" about it. Here we knew we had got it right, from the moment we were welcomed inside. We were offered a free upgrade to a larger room having actually booked a small one. (We didn't need the upgrade, but really appreciated the offer!) A very attractively... More

Myself and two friends stayed at this b&b last night after visiting the Lakes District and we were so impressed by the welcome and the room. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and catered to every potential need that you could think of the suite. None of us would hesitate staying there again and would highly recommend it.

The Carlisle Tourist Office found me a room at this 4 star family run property, for which I'm very grateful as I had not booked a room before arriving. Friendly and personable owner Melanie made me feel very welcome. As her daughter was having a birthday party my first night and was concerned about it disturbing me, she offered me... More

Well situated near the centre of Carlisle, but for walkers doing Hadrians' Wall (Mickledore Holidays) it was a unfortunately a very noisy front room above the traffic. Well appointed room with big comfortable bed, but complicated en-suite. Otherwise the excelent breakfast and freindly service made up for the noisy room! J&M 8 Jul 12

Stayed one night whilst walking Hadrian's Wall. Friendly young couple run this average sized Guest house, they were both very helpful with our requests. Their rates were reasonable. The property is centrally placed in the city - but this gave it's only drawback - there was a lot of traffic noise late night and early morning! The twin bedroom was... More

I recently walked Hadrian's Wall with a friend and this was the accommodation for our 5th night. It was wonderful. We may have stayed in the same room as the previous reviewer, as it faced the street, but didn't have any of their problems with noise. Perhaps there was a hen/stag party or some other "one off" that spoiled their... More

The only disappointing stay on our trek along Hadrian's Wall. Our room overlooked the main road into Carlisle and the traffic noise was horrendous. Triple glazing would have helped but all we had was leaky single panes. Through the evening and into the night there was tremendous noise of shouting and banging inside the guest house. Perhaps this place is... More
