Marjorie welcomed us and directed us to our very nice and clean room. A surprise was the quietness of our surrounding area, although it is located very near the centre of Carlisle. Having relaxed after a nice warm shower, we asked for a place she would recommend for a meal. We went to the Beehive (?), just 200yards from our... More

We stayed for four nights while our home was being renovated and received a warm welcome from Mrs Dawes. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. Mrs Dawes was kind and accommodating allowing us to leave our car before checking in and after we checked out and also let us use the kitchen to... More

Stayed here for 1 night in December. The rooms were spotless! The house is huge and you are free to use the lounge which is a lovely space to relax. Breakfast was also fantastic. All in all a great stay and would not hesitate in recommending to others.

Stayed here for our 5th night doing Hadrian's Wall path. Relatively close off the path and near the soccer stadium...tended to be a bit noisy given we had a room facing the street and we stayed on a night when a match was being played. Otherwise the room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The city centre was only about... More

Mrs Dawes made us very welcome on arrival. We were able to use her washing machine for a large load of grubby walking clothes and then to peg out on her line for the sun to dry them. The rooms were very well appointed with an excellent shower.Breakfast was hearty and plentiful.

Good comfortable guest house. Everything spotless and clean. Rooms good with en suite shower. Only a short distance to the city centre. Make sure you visit the Castle and the Tullie museum if you have time, well worth it. Very good breakfasts with full English, fresh fruit and cereals.

Nice place in city center. We walked about 15 miles to get here. Simple bar food recommended by the bartender and a few items from a town store and we were ready for the England interior. The room was nice. We had a good nights sleep. In the am, it was a rainy day. We enjoyed breakfast she provided and... More

My son and I stayed for 1 night whilst walking Hadrians wall. This was very close to the trail and also the city centre, despite being on a busy junction we heard very little traffic. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, the whole property was lovely. Breakfast was very good and the service was fantastic. Only blip was the... More

Situated very centrally - lovely people. Excellent service and very very helpful - we wanted to find someone to massage our sore feet after the Hadrian Trek and ever so helpful. The rooms were very clean, in fact between three of us, we expected to get a triple room but to our pleasant surprise, were given a two bedroom flat... More

Very nice well cared for guest house, lovely clean and spacious room with good size ensuite. A very warm welcome from Marjorie and staff, great breakfast, plenty choice and served in a pleasant dining room. Would happily recommend as a great place to stay. Sue and Tony Benn.
