Travelling from the bottom to the top of our island often necessitates a stopover point. I chose Carlisle and the Swallow Hotel because it's just off the M6, two miles down the road from J42. This used to be a very tired hotel, but now things are looking a lot better. Rooms are clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff very welcoming and pleasant especially Cherry and Rachel on reception who could not do enough to help and make the stay very pleasant.

It was a tired old hotel. First image is ok, but it was dirty. Under sinks around a corner down right dirty. Towels a little thread bare. Price was low and breakfast was Great! So it balances out. Would I stay there again, Yea for the price and breakfast was included.
