Hotel states it supplies free wifi. no connection since I have been here. blame on BT and ISP (no concern of management to get it fixed) TV reception (if you can call it... more

I was very worried about travelling to the hotel having read the reviews. However I was very happy with the service from the staff and also the evening meal and breakfast was very well presented and of good quality. Unable to comment on the bar prices because did not use it! I would agree that the hotel would benefit from... more

This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpets dismal and whole place tired. In a word can best be described as mediochre. The room we stayed in (158) desperately requires a complete new bathroom. The shower water pressure is a joke. The room itself had torn wallpaper hanging off the walls, which were also covered in scuffmarks/scratches and cracks.... more

Things did not start well in this hotel when our first room had bugs on the bed. Asked for another room and got no apology or reaction from the staff other than to be given a key to another room. In our second room the TV did not work and the bathroom was pretty mouldy. The kettle was also full... more

I have never been so unfortunate as to stay in such an unfriendly hotel, and worse than that, that staff lie! You may think I have got things a bit wrong, a misunderstanding perhaps, oh, no. Bald faced lies! I was with my elderly aunt on a coach tour, we only had to spend one night in this dreadful place,... more

We learned a new word. 'Out-booking' This is when hotel reception staff don't accept your booking correctly but you have a bit of paper saying you have a reservation and the hotel is fully booked. (due to a darts competition in the hotel) Anyway, 'outbooking' is when they 'unbook' someone at your expense. The laugh is watching the staff try... more

We spent four nights at this hotel and found it satisfactory. Like many hotels, it would benefit from refurbishment but the room was clean and quiet, the beds comfortable and the staff helpful. We found it difficult to reconcile our experience with some of the excessively negative reviews which appear on this site. more

This was a lovely Hotel, friendly staff, slightly old fashioned rooms but a great restaurant. Purpose of the visit was a birthday treat for my son (a Carlisle fan). The Hotel was easy to find and both ideal for the Brunton Park stadium or for exploring Carlisle which was a lovely city to explore over the weekend. more
