I visited this Hotel in the 90s for a Conference and it hasn't been updated since. Formerly a business stop it now seems White Van Man and cheap tourist deals have taken over. In Administration, the Swallow group has seen better days. Having said that the room for £27 a night DBB was clean and warm. Public areas are shabby... more

Yes i know it was cheap, but...... it was disgusting. the receptionist was helpful and friendly but that was about it. I didn't expect a lot but not this. On entry it was reminiscent of an old people's home, or a place social services house people waiting for social housing. Carpets stuck down with black gaffa tape. A large lounge... more

I was very worried about travelling to the hotel having read the reviews. However I was very happy with the service from the staff and also the evening meal and breakfast was very well presented and of good quality. Unable to comment on the bar prices because did not use it! I would agree that the hotel would benefit from... more

This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpets dismal and whole place tired. In a word can best be described as mediochre. The room we stayed in (158) desperately requires a complete new bathroom. The shower water pressure is a joke. The room itself had torn wallpaper hanging off the walls, which were also covered in scuffmarks/scratches and cracks.... more

Things did not start well in this hotel when our first room had bugs on the bed. Asked for another room and got no apology or reaction from the staff other than to be given a key to another room. In our second room the TV did not work and the bathroom was pretty mouldy. The kettle was also full... more

I have never been so unfortunate as to stay in such an unfriendly hotel, and worse than that, that staff lie! You may think I have got things a bit wrong, a misunderstanding perhaps, oh, no. Bald faced lies! I was with my elderly aunt on a coach tour, we only had to spend one night in this dreadful place,... more
