Do not think 'oh I'll ignore the reviews it's probably not that bad' IT IS. We stayed for 1 miserable night here. Upon arrive were told the car park was full so we had to pay £10 parking - then when we went back in the building we saw other people told they could park in the disabled spaces so... More

Where to start? Smelly musty room with dated / broken furniture. The drawers were lopsided falling apart so bad they cannot close, the seat for the dressing table was so indented that the bottom was literally hanging out of it, carpets so dirty and pitted that you kept your socks on, they also had large iron burn marks from previous... I decided to ignore some of the negative comments in some reviews on here and was glad I did. The location was great for me. I walked from the station in a couple of minutes. The hotel is in the town centre and perfect for shops, pubs and restraurants. The castle was an easy walk. I had hoped to check... More

We stayed here with a travel company, bed, breakfast and evening meal, we opened the door to our room and WOW, we had the Devonshire suit, fantastic room with 3 seater settee and all the storage space you could want, it was clean, the staff were fantastic and the food was excellent, the only downside was that the floor was... The hotel is literally acoss the road from Carlisle train station. Let's be fair - as stated in previous reviews this hotel is very tired. Yes the bathrooms have some cracked tiles and the bath panels are past their best - yes the floor boards are creaky, it is an old builing - yes some of the furniture is a... More

We stayed 21/7/15 and checked out 23/7/15, we booked a double room which looked very nice on Booking.com, but when we checked in they gave us a Triple room, the carpets were stained and ripped, broken tiles on the floor in the bathroom, the towel rail was also on the floor. We tried to open the windows which just would... More

Had bookings for two seperate nights. The first night I stayed I got in after a long days walking and was very tired and ready to see my room. At first glance to room looked great. But ....after having a rest and with clear eyes I noticed the bathroom was way below standards => using polite words here. The linoleum... More

The rooms were poorly maintained, small bed and shower that is in need of renovation. The room was hot and lacked ventilation, breakfast was an incentive had to pay. Good point close to town & station
