This is a hotel that I can't recommend to anyone. Yes, the staff was friendly, the location was good and just a few minutes from the train station. The carpet in the room was even more stained and shabby than in the staircase to the room. The worst was however the bathroom. It looked so unclean that I for my... More

Found this to be a fairly reasonable priced hotel. It was quite central for what we wanted for the night, any amount of pubs, and fast food places. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. If I had to pick against something it would be the bathroom, found the toilet difficult to flush and the shower... More

This hotel needs serious work to bring it up to scratch - I'm sure it must be in breach of health and safety. The outside looks forlorn with a rusting canopy and doesn't get any better inside. The room had various bits missing or in very poor repair. Carpets on main staircase were stained, worn and shabby - ugh!. The... More

My daughter and |I spent an overnight in the County Hotel in Carlisle and we were pleasantly surprised. We booked the hotel because of its great location for the railway station and our coach pick up point at 5am the following morning. The reviews it had received were mainly not good so we had our reservations. The hotel was absolutely... More

Awful....car park looked dodgy but at least it's a free car park. Room big but awful. Double bed (two twins pushed together) uneven mattresses Bathroom discussing-would have come out dirtier than you when you go in. Shower rail held up by massive lumps of polyfilla/grout r something which continued round above door. We asked for quieter room was told good... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights for our daughter's graduation. We picked the hotel for its central location. This hotel must have been lovely in its heyday but could badly do with some updating, the bathrooms particularly (the shower is abysmal) but the rooms are of a decent enough size. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I would ask... More

Room 113 (I think) This Hotel is situated in a good spot for shopping and sightseeing around Carlisle. It is right across from the Train station. Check in was fine and the size of the room was great because we were given a triple when we only ordered a double. 3 big windows opened up to a nice view of... More

We stayed one night in this hotel on our way back to Inverness. We paid a very low price and wasn't bothered too much about what it would be like. We were however pleasantly surprised as we the staff were extremely friendly and were accommodating with our two dogs. The location was good and there were plenty of restaurants near... More

We stayed for one night at the County Hotel Carlisle just as a rest over during our journey onwards to the Lake district the next day. Plenty of parking (CCTV covered), friendly reception staff, full English breakfast, free wifi and an iron (for my enduring wife) available on request, pretty happy with £45 per night.....no drama`s Had a double room...
