This was our third stay at this hotel for the Carlisle Blues Festival,we always receive a warm welcome from Pat who serves a fantastic breakfast! First class value for money.Easy walk into city centre with a wide selection of places to eat.Although the Lodge is on a main road,no problem with noise at night

I stopped here with my partner on the way to Scotland. It's just on the edge of town so not noisy. You can park in the pub car park next door but it's also within walking distance of the train station. The room was really clean with a good shower. The double bed was more like a queen size so... Good guest house to stay in if you need somewhere to stay just for a few nights. Far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to walk in. When i arrived with my girlfriend we were left outside for a while without being able to get in, felt as though our booking had been forgotten. Eventually were welcomed... More

On our round trip we stayed for one night in Akale Lodge, stay was pleasant, we slept well and had a clean room. Breakfast was good, and valuable. The CIty Carlisle is not really worth a visit. But on our way to Scottland the B&B was worth a stay. We can recomment this B&B.

Stayed here overnight on way to Scotland for weekend. Accomodation was spotless and very good for price paid. As for the breakfast it was excellent was looking forward to this as most reviewers have commented on it . This will set you up for the day - cereal, tea or coffee toast and then a massive fry up thoroughly enjoyable

Visited for 3 nights with my partner this spring. This bigger-than-average bed and breakfast operation sports quite a few rooms on a site that's way bigger than it looks from the street, but despite the scale it still has the safe and personal feel you'd expect from the usual 4-room townhouse, and didn't feel at all like a battery farm... Called on the off chance of a room on a wet miserable night. A wonderful welcome, a great room and a delicious hearty breakfast. Have stayed in hotels and guest houses all over the country and this is right up there with the best.

We stayed one night, en route from Oban to Norfolk. But we were not made to feel like one-nighters! Pat had been extremely helpful on the phone with the booking - and as we had a dog, booked us into a ground floor room with an enclosed patio area. The room was clean, as was the en suite, and there... More
