Norman was so friendly and helpful with storing the bikes. No fuss and helpful advice about routes and stopping points. Large car park and wonderfully clean and sumptuous rooms. The smoked Fish breakfast was stupendous.

Although it took me by surprise, the entire house is very old-fashioned, which I could not have loved more. What really sold me was walking into the bathroom and seeing a small bookshelf featuring works by Dickens, Cervantes, and others. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable, but was large enough to take up most... More

My wife and I recently attended a wedding in Carlisle and booked a double room at the Langleigh. Our hosts Yvette and Norman couldn’t have been more welcoming, charming and helpful. Yvette is a professional chef of many years standing and this is shown in the food which was beautifully presented and delicious. Norman went out of his way to... More

we booked this guest house as it had secure parking for our motorbikes, we had booked a family room, as there was three of us originally but one had to cancel at the last minute. we arrived at 5pm, and parked in the car park at the rear, where the owner came out to meet and greet us, with two... I stayed at this B&B for 4 nights, using it as a base to complete the Hadrian's Wall Path (only about 1/4 mile from the trail) and also tour Carlisle and the area. This was one of the most delightful accommodation I had for my entire trip. Yvette and Norman were very welcoming. I was practically made to feel not... More

An excellent stay here at the start of our Hadrians Wall trip ... it's a shame that we only enjoyed Yvette & Norman's hospitality for one night. A warm and genuine welcome with spotless rooms. An evening meal is particularly recommended, ours was fabulous, cooked to perfection and superb presentation. If and when we return to Carlisle, this will definitely... More

Not a bad guest house, clean and comfortable, with a Victorian theme. Average breakfast with very little impromptu choices such as yoghurt, jam pats or breads to help yourself to, only food ordered previous evening seem to be available. Dogs barking as guests arrive, if your not a dog lover this would be a bad choice of venue. With the... More

Stayed at Langleigh for 2 nights at the end of our Hadrian's Wall walk and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The Victorian house is beautiful, with lots of character and period features and the warm, friendly welcome which we received from the owner Yvette was most appreciated. Our bedroom was full of charm, as well as being very... More

The room was lovely, nicely decorated (lovely fireplace) with a comfortable bed and good shower, in a charming Victorian house. The proprietor was helpful and friendly, and provided secure storage for my bicycle. Excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.

What I liked most about this B&B was the owner who really made us feel at home. It is a well decorated spot with comfy beds and a delicious English breakfast. The walk from the train station is not too bad, even with bags. It was a 4 pound cab ride to the castle, and we wandered back to the... More
