We stayed only one night and that was fortunate. The value was good but, the hotel and the rooms left a lot to be desired. Location was at least convenient to Hadrian's Wall. This was our one night half way point from St. Andrews to Wales. Don't think we would have stayed a second night - we would have moved... More

We stayed for 1 night on our way north to Scotland. 3 adults and 2 dogs in 2 rooms - both rooms were clean and tidy and of good size. I did have to turn on our radiator valve on and switch the TV on at the wall, & the other room had a tiny clean water leak in the... More

This was booked over the phone at 6pm for a 9pm arrival. Although it was on a main road my room was quiet at the back. I was given a large double with great bathroom. Very accommodating rooms with free public parking around the corner and communal lounge. There is a very good indian resturant across the road and a... More

Just returned from a two nght stay here in room number 11 . Family room for myself , wife and 17 yr old daughter . Chose this place specifically for that convenience , rather than paying for two rooms . It was the cheapest available and breakfast was included in the price . The room was perfectly adequate , clean... More

We stayed here on the way north having booked two rooms online. The hotel is dead easy to find on a main road in and very centrally located in Carlisle, an easy walk to the town centre. Being on a main road there isn't parking right out the front but there is a well marked parking area only a few... More

The Angus hotel is a friendly, comfortable and clean place to stay. It does not have all the facilities of a city centre hotel but it is definitely more than a bed-and-breakfast, as it has a nice lounge one can sit in and offers a range of evening meals which, while not extensive, is very acceptable. It also has a... More

We stayed here on our way back down South from the Highlands, as a couple of other people have mentioned the Lady and Gentleman who appear to run the property are like chalk and cheese, she is very friendly and cant do enough for you, the gentleman borders on being rude and unfriendly. Room was lovely and clean, bathroom appeared... More

I would say this is a friendly large guest house rather than a hotel, somewhere in between, with good service and lovely breakfast. also clean room with average walking distance from the city centre. It is made from three properties into one large accommodation . There is a nice reading room , a small restuarant/eating area. We only stopped overnight... More

Greeting by the gentleman at the desk was not very friendly or welcoming. The complete opposite can be said of the lovely friendly lady of the house, she could not do enough for us. The room was lovely, clean and quite modern. Breakfast was spot on.

Lady of the house was very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for her to provide. The food was excellent, having taken both evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. If anything could be improved then it is the general atmosphere of the communal areas, i.e. scrap the musak, improve the decor and make the whole place more homely.
