Awful from start to finish .. Polite girl working on reception who greeted us and told us we had to stay in the annex part of the hotel situated at the back of the hotel - quite a pleasant girl however told us very patronisingly that we must keep the room tidy during our stay. On arriving at the annex... More

Stopped here as a last minute thing via booking.com and despite renovations taking place to the bar and restaurant was a lovely little hotel. I was welcomed nicely and fully explained to about works being carried out. Given my key and off I went. The room was dated but comfortable, clean, spacious and value for money. The heating is old... Was greeted kindly on arrival but never saw another peron again. Stayed 2 nights with no housekeeping services at all. There seemed to be so other guests or staff at all. We tried to get an extra pillow soon after arrival but could find no one. It was quite frightening. Room and building Also unbearably hot!

I stayed here last week and enjoyed it. Everything was good including the room size, comfortable bed, and no disturbances from other guests whatsoever. Great nights stay at a reasonable price Highly recommended

Absolute dump, locked when I arrived, no lights on, no other people saying there, smelt of cigarette smoke. I looked to book breakfast and evening meal only to be told that the kitchens had been closed down.....my booking confirmation stated ... Breakfast at an additional cost so you would presume by this that they had cooking facilities....As I am female... More

Book with caution...Up on arrival at this "hotel" we were told there would be no breakfast as advertised (and paid for!) as the kitchen was being refurbished....Room was dirty, smelly & stupidly hot. On arrival back home I have now been charged an extra £150 for apparently smoking in the room....Neither me or my husband have ever smoked!! Unhelpful &... More

I booked this hotel as was close to my business destination and was cheap. Surprised to find out that the main part of the hotel was closed as did not state this on their website, unless i missed it? This meant I was staying in the annex building at the back. I must admit that this did make me fear... More

A friend and I booked one night here at short notice as we were attending the Pulp concert in Sheffield and all other options were exhausted. We were told on arrival we'd be staying in the annex as the main building was being refurbished. So no breakfast, no lounge and no bar. I noticed from other reviews that this had... More

I have been staying at this hotel since 2011 for work purposes. It is good for room only, price is fair and very close to the town. Room is of good size, warm, internet is ok, bath and shower! Staff friendly. I would highly recommend The Brecon Hotel to people like me who need a room for a few nights... More
