Having read several of the reviews I was a little concerned but thought I'd still give it a go. I have to say I found the staff to be very friend and they could be more helpfull. The food was excellent, I believe they hotel now has a new chef, so this could have something to do with it. So... more

Arrived here expecting a grand stately manor on acres of land (as advertised!) but the hotel is just off the motorway and at the back end of an industrial estate. I agree with most of the comments left on this site, namely that the hotel lacks leadership as it didn't seem that anyone was in charge. The food is average... more

I stayed here for 3 days on a business trip. The rooms and leisure complex were fine but the staff were incredibly unfriendly and the food was abysmal. Also the countryside setting which is indicated from the website is a myth! more

We stayed there for 2 nights in November. Full breakfast was included and the total price was £140 which I thought was good. The room was big enough and it was clean and tidy. Complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and a flatscreen TV. The staff were friendly, if a bit inexperienced. The breakfast was good. We had dinner there for one... more

We booked on the strength of the website which gave the impression of a country house hotel, neither the setting or the hotel itself match that description. The staff were generally very friendly, the swimming pool is nice and the leisure area is generally ok.The bedrooms are a decent size. Unfortunately that is about as good as it gets. Firstly... more

Stayed for a weekend whilst visiting family. Booking via telephone was efficient and staff friendly and helpful. Arrived to a smooth check-in and allocation of room. Room very dark and dingy, smelling strongly of damp with a chair subtley hiding a large amount of damp on wall. Windows had also seen better days and were difficult to open. Toilet didnt... more

We stayed in the Hellaby Hall Hotel from 13th to 15th June 2008. The room was spacious and very nicely decorated. The bedding and towels were clean and fragrant. A heated towel rail in a bathroom is very practical equipment; it’s a pity that rarely encountered in hotels. The food in the restaurant was really good, both breakfast and dinner.... more

Stayed one night on 21st June 2008 after a very wet and cold day in South Yorkshire. We were with our grandson and much appreciated the use of the pool and spa facilities. The evening meal was very acceptable and generally freshly prepared. The rooms were spacious and had flat screen TV but no WiFi access (wired connections were available).... more
