I've stayed in the Carlton park a few times over the years and it has definitely improved since they refurbished it.
Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.
Breakfast is good and the gym and swimming pool are a nice bonus. The bar and restaurant meals are good and reasonably priced for a hotel.
