Rather grand looking hotel which if viewed with very critical eyes you could find faults but!!! Go in open minded and it is a very large, prestigious hotel with some lovely features. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful. The room we had was of a very good standard. The only issue was the taps in the room. They have... More

Booked for a week; 6th sept to the following Saturday; contemplated leaving 2 days early by mid week. Never have I stayed in such a place in Skegness with such low quality customer services. Need a drink; ring the bell, watch the receptionist run over make a drink. Need the reception, ring a bell, he'll pop over again from the... More

Stayed recently for a two night last minute family break with the dog in tow! Excellent value at £28.00 pppn bed and breakfast. This hotel does so many things right but the attention to detail is lacking. Our rooms were clean and spacious but needed a lick of paint and new fixtures and fittings...the staff were exceptionally friendly and seemed... More

This is the second time I have stayed here. It is in a great location with ample car parking which is a bonus. Staff are helpful and the place is a very relaxing experience. The rooms are adequate but the bathroom could have been cleaner , when I say cleaner things like the sealant around the bath needs replacing. I... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel was smart in appearance with two large car parks which was the main reason for booking this place. Most of the other accommodation where mainly guest houses with little or no parking. Had to change room for last night as I booked the third night last minute. The first room was very small, but... I spent 2 nights at the Royal, never having stayed in Skegness before. The Royal is an old hotel and, of course, its age shows through despite all the work done on it to keep it up to scratch. However, in many respects this adds to its charm. Her floorboards may creak and the wall-paper may look a bit jaded... More

We stayed at The Royal Hotel for our 45th Wedding Anniversary, we had spent our honeymoon in Skegness in a cheap self catering bedsit, with a toilet at the end of the hall, so thought we would do it in style this time in an Hotel. The Hotel was in a nice quiet location but within easy walking distance to... More

Only booked the week before I decided to spend the weekend in Skegness. Had tried other Hotels/Guest Houses and the Royal was showing it was fully booked on the Hotel Booking Sites (well, it was mid August). I phoned the Hotel directly who managed to fit me in. Having read the reviews on TripAdvisor, it seems to be a bit... More
