My wife daughter and myself stayed at the County Hotel for just one night ( although we have stayed quiet a few times for longer) and we had a very enjoyable weekend. Ross the manager will move heaven and earth to meet your expectations, and the rest of his staff follow his high standard. The hotel is always spotlessly clean... More

Family of four stayed for two nights. Excellent welcome on arrival, no parking problems. Very comfortable beds,The breakfast was good, our room was very spacious. Fantastic price. Interesting to speak to the staff about the history of the hotel. Still some original features can be seen On the sea front near to the pier, nature land, Mini Golf. We intend... More

Stayed for just 2 nights booked last moment. Ross took the booking and checked us in on arrival. He is a credit to the hotel although all the staff are friendly and hardworking. Our room was lovely and warm and very clean. The hotel is what it says - a 1930's hotel - so don't expect modern furnishings / decoration,... More

We travelled with David Urquart to this hotel for a twixmas break. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. they all worked so hard to ensure your holiday was a success. The general manager Ross was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. It was obvious he loved his job and was helpful and pleasant at all... More

We have just returned from our 1st Christmas break away from home. The staff & manager Ross were excellent. We had room 43,reasonable size with a lovely sea view. Our problem was the cold coming through the double glazed windows! We managed by closing curtains & leaving electric fire on until our last day 26/27 Dec.It was very windy with rain/sleet all on our... My partner and I have just returned from a Five Day Christmas break at this venue. Our stay was on a Full Board basis in, Room 33 on the second floor of the Hotel. As is mentioned in earlier reviews, the establishment depicts the 1930s era, with structural evidence throughout the building, and particular emphasis upon the lift. Our double... More

Went with Sunrise for a Turkey and Tinsel weekend Sept/Oct. Rooms dated but clean, although one of the windows in our sea view room was surrounded with mould. May be because it was not double glazed like the other window. The room was very cold, radiators were hardly ever on, but we did have a separate heater. Spare blankets are... More

Food very good (apart from under cooked eggs for breakfast), resteraunt service very good. Poor service at the bar due to understaffing. Hotel VERY tired but very clean. Room 29 beds barely adequate, after complaint a "topper" was put on the mattress but still left a lot to be desired. The weather was bitter cold but we were able to... More
