First time visit to this hotel. Had a great time, lovely setting, rooms great, king size beds sooo comfortable. Al a carte food was delicious. Breakfast was amazing. Every member of staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Car park was huge, which makes a nice change. Will look forward to a return trip.

A friend of mine recommended Stamford as a romantic getaway for my boyfriend's 28th birthday. A quick Google query later, and after skimming some TripAdvisor reviews, William Cesil was summarily booked. Arriving at 11pm on a Friday, our first impression was a pleasant one. Ample parking and a well kept reception area on the ground floor, stocked with mandatory antiques... More

We stayed here last weekend and overall enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in a good location on the edge of town with its own direct access to the Burleigh estate. The huge car parked meant no problems getting a space, but I did note whilst sitting in the guest's sitting room that rooms in the front of the hotel... More

Yesterday we had a surprise party at this fantastic hotel in aid of my in laws silver wedding anniversary. We had the Burghley room for the whole day for 50 guest with a 3 course Sunday lunch menu which was fantastic. The chef was brilliant he worked around our pre-order perfectly! The staff was incredibly polite, outgoing and professional. A... More

Had a most enjoyable stay at this hotel. It is a boutique hotel, and my room was located in the attic with a very low ceiling, which made it extra cosy. The bed was very comfortable the sheets of eight gorgeous quality and the mattress was superb. The hotel clearly has attention to detail 30 area had various tastes in... More

OK. I'm slightly biased on this one as we did have our wedding reception here in 2014, but our experience staying in the William Cecil a year later and eating there 4 or 5 times over the last couple of years has been extremely good. It sounds pretty simple, but what you get form the William Cecil is exquisite, period... More

We enjoyed our overnight stay and found the staff to be really helpful - if I was basing the review on their service I'd give the hotel excellent. Service is so important and the staff were well trained whilst relaxed and friendly! Thank you! The quirky character made for an interesting place to stay! Dinner was tasty! Breakfast was good... Stayed here a couple of nights for a friend's wedding. Were allocated room 14, which is massive, with an enormous en suite. Loved the wonky floor in the bedroom and the mini library in the en suite (which included both a walk in shower and a freestanding bath. Only minor problem we had was that we couldn't work out how... We were booked into a Cich room on the ground floor that was next to the pavement and main road. Having realised that we had major concerns about the en-suite bathroom (which had no shower) being viewed from outside we requested a change. We were then accommodated on the first floor at the back of the building. This room was... More

We had lunch with family and although the hotel is lovely the food did fall a little flat. It was 'good' but for the money I wanted 'great'. My crab starter was almost £10 and just didn't have a lot of flavour. The main courses were nice but at nearly £20 each I really wanted us to enjoy them more.... More
