I have been visiting the Lady Anne's Hotel since August 1988 staying there at least once a year and sometimes up to four occasions per annum. The Hotel is in a wonderful setting and visitors should take the opportunity to walk in the gardens and grounds and ascertain a little of the history of the building which is in information... more

Superb location, Spacious gravel car park set in woodland. Just a couple of minutes walk from the historic town centre. My room was clean, airy, quiet and my bed was comfortable. My sat nav charger broke and the staff were really helpful in finding me a replacement locally. I would highly recommend the very reasonably priced beef lasagne served in... more

Stayed overnight last week for a family party. The hotel certainly needs some serious updating but the manager/joint owner and staff work very hard to make up for the hotel's shortcomings. They were polite and helpful. The food was good, the rooms interesting (!) and yes, it does seem as though the place is 'hanging on by the skin of... more

This hotel was slightly traditional and a bit chintzy (sp?) but really friendly and quaint. I had a great time. Food edible, comfy bed and nice communal areas. Perfect for my Grandmas 80th birthday party!! After reading the reviews, I thought it was going to be horrendous but I was pleasantly surpised!! Owner and staff were very helpful and friendly.... more

I attended a wedding at Lady Anne's Hotel recently and completely agree with the damning reviews that this hotel has been receiving. I used to work at the hotel many years ago and have to say it once had a reasonably good reputation. However, I hadn't set foot in the hotel for many years and when I mentioned to people... more

I booked 2 rooms for a wedding which was taking place in that hotel - i now wish i had stayed elsewhere! The bed in both rooms was only 4' , the bathroom was the size of a linen closet and had no light above the toilet -which could explain why the room smelt of urine! The shower had to... more

We went to stamford for a weekend getaway. From some of the reivews on this hotel we were a bit concnered, but should not have been. It was great, our room was a fantastic, with a 4 poster bed and a lovely view of the garden. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and the food was... more

The potential for this hotel is tremendous. It looks fantastic from the outside and is in a good location within Stamford. However, once you step inside, the problems start. The interior and public rooms are in desperate need of updating. Our room, which was specifically booked for a young family, was on the ground floor, adjacent to the main road.... more

We have had many meals there and have always enjoyed good food, excellent service and a friendly welcome. It may be a little old fashioned for some tastes but we enjoy the charming atmosphere and always leave with a feeling of satisfaction. The many current letters they have on display testify to the quality of their functions and a number... more
