Our annual trip to Stamford, yet again sampling the hospitality of this excellent Hotel. The quality and the courtesy of our Hosts has not fallen and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food and wines were absolute perfection and Candlesticks is yet again recommended as an ideal venue for exploring this fantastic area.

Stayed at the Candlesticks this weekend pure for location and price as visiting Stamford for a family party so needed a bed. Delighted with value in this quaint establishment. Double Room 2 - comfortable, big enough and very clean and all you need - nothing amazing BUT More than Value for money. Great in room breakfast facility of usual tea... More

My mother and father in law stayed here for the weekend of their 50th wedding anniversary - a great location opposite the church in which they were married. A quaint room which had everything they needed and the breakfast was exceptional. 11 of us enjoyed a celebratory meal on the Friday evening and it was superb. Beautifully prepared, cooked and... Old fashion place but excelent service and tasfefull food makes it worth to try and coming back. Great meal at evening, we were surprised by the excelent quality of the food, wine, and at the end, not that expensive! Excelent price quality ratio for a restaurant in the UK!

Situation for the centre of Stamford is excellent. However don't forget to pack your thermals - we went in January and the room was very cold, and the heating didn't appear to be on for long. We were in room 8, which is right at the top of the hotel, very small room, with a bathroom that is out of... More

Had a terrific time staying at the Candlesticks in Stamford, England. Proprietor Nelio has a talent for making one feel like you are staying at the house of an old friend, even when there for the first time. With a lovely in-room continental breakfast set-up, and a excellent in-house restaurant for dinner, the notion of England not having great food... More

Me and my partner have visited here many a time and were never disappointed. Naturally, when friends visited, we thought it would be nice to take them there too. When we rang to book a table we asked for a table downstairs, when we arrived the woman behind the bar told us to sit upstairs but we wanted to sit... More

We stayed here for four nights and found the hotel to be beautifully quaint on the outside and centrally situated to what we needed to do in beautiful Stamford. We did, however, find the rooms to be very small (we were in no 6) and dated. The shower is not the best, either as only an average trickle if water... More

My sister and I visited Stamford for a very short stay. Before arriving, we had researched possible places to eat and this was high on our list. A sharp shower of rain made our mind up for us, and I feel very fortunate to have been guided here by the weather. Our visit was excellent from start to finish.Professional, efficient... More
