What a pleasant place!! After a week away in Taunton and plenty of exploring neighbouring villages we found many nice places but this was near the top. A traditional small village English pub with friendly staff and friendly locals. Sit at the bar or on the couches and chairs and just chat with a good beer or cider. We had... More

This is a terrific little pub. Sure the room was not four star but the bed was comfy and the shower had water pressure. The location was idyllic. The other thing which worked was the food. Fabulous! Try the prawn rissotto or the class curry-yummy. The breakfast was terrific too. Best poached eggs around. Well worth the effort to get... More

We recently stayed at the New Inn, which is set in the tiny but very pretty village of Halse. The accommodation is reasonable, if not spectacular. The ensuite bathroom - being a modern addition to a period property, and having no windows - was a little musty. But the room was clean and fit for purpose. At he price we... More

This is definitely a destination pub that people who enjoy great hospitality should visit, the food is excellent with a good selection. The landlord Alan is very helpful and cooks up a mean breakfast. The locals are really friendly, you have to drive down a country lane to find the pub, but well worth it.

We stayed here for a night. It is a very tired place in need of a make over. Very basic room that could have been better. Bathroom/ shower was ok though. I think the pictures etc are not very recent either.

Would have been an excellent if it weren't for the soft mattress and the low bed in room 5. I did move to the single bed in the room during the night, which was better. This pub has a nice upmarket feel to it and the service and food were excellent. The room was pleasant, nicely decorated and airy. The... More

Stayed here a few times and just looking to come again soon. Perfect for our girls get away, especially being able to fit 4 of us in a room. We keep coming back mainly due to the breakfast :) also enjoyed a dinner there too. Good pub grub and atmosphere.

We have been here a few times and used it both as a pub for a drink and as a restaurant for meals. The car park at the back can get full quickly on a Saturday evening but parking is possible on the street at the front The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the beer and cider selection is good.... We stayed at the New Inn Halse whilst visiting family just before Chtistmas. We chose it from the reviews on Trip Advisor and found it really nice. The welcome was great, even though we were too early and the place was still locked up. A very kind and nice gentleman local helped us raise the owners to get us in... More
