Stayed at the hotel for one night to attend a wedding. The hotel oozes class. You soon forget that you're just a couple of miles outside Taunton. The grounds and building give the ambience of a secluded country retreat. The service was excellent throughout, at every touch-point. The rooms are beautiful; spacious and very comfortable. The bed was supremely comfortable.... More

My husband booked a garden room for the night as a surprise. There are two such rooms in the hotel and both have a private hot tub which is nice. We have stayed in these rooms many times as well as all of the rooms in the main house over the years. This hotel has had its ups and downs... More

We have stayed at the Mount Somerset many times over the years. During that time it's had its highs and lows. I can safely say that things have improved greatly over the past 6 months. The room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed, including a private hot tub. The evening meal was excellent, well presented, tasty and piping hot.... More

Well I shall start at the beginning, on arrival found I wasn't booked for afternoon tea most annoying as repeated this as time of booking. Ushered to the lounge to wait whilst informing the kitchen of my order. When my food arrived the sandwiches were dry on the ends as if been out for hours, even though I arrived before... More

We attended on Wednesday 6th may for a spa day whilst on holiday following positive reviews. The hotel itself is nice and the lunch we had was of a very good standard. Sadly I cannot say the same about the spa. After getting locker keys we were taken into a separate building where we were pointed in the direction of... More

The setting is lovely - so I had high expectations … I feel that their website is misleading with regards to the ‘facilities’ offered by the Spa – for use for 2 hours , it was difficult to fill even 1 hour. The Sauna and steam room, one can only use for a limited period– so this didn’t use much... More

The Mount Somerset Hotel is a lovely building and very well kept inside. However, it went down hill from then on in. We arrived for our spa day and were greeted and seated in the lounge with coffee (we were expecting Prosecco as our voucher stated but thought that this may follow later in the day) after filling in our... Dear jloSomerset, Many thanks for your review. I am sorry we did not live up to your expectations on this occasion. We pride ourselves on our intimate spa and limit the numbers of guests in the spa area to ensure our guests have the best possible experience. With regards to the treatments, our therapists judge whether a customer wishes to... More

I recommend the Garden Room with the hot tub the room was lovely really well laid out. The bathroom was amazing. We had spa treatments which was amazing and were the only people in the spa. The spa is in an out building with treatments and lockers upstairs and spa facilities on ground floor. Dinner here is an event, the... More

A lovely afternoon spent with friends. Snack lunch with yummy chips and processo! Arriving up the drive we were greeted with a beautiful building, staff were friendly and atmosphere class. Spa clean and relaxing. Therapists were professional and our two treatments - heaven! Hope to return and make it a 6 monthly treat. 👍

We had a family birthday celebration this weekend. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was excellent. Our rooms were beautiful, with real attention to detail (including a 'nesspresso' machine, and chocs on the pillow!). The gardens were lovely and it is set with stunning views. Compared to a stay at a Dartmoor hotel belonging to... More
