I had forgotten why I avoid Travel Lodges, this stay reminded me - no heating in three rooms I was shown, taped up electric switches, disconected towel rails, ripped chairs, broken window latches, hot tap not working - hm - any point going on! more

Obviously there were bug (s) ofsome type in the room (late November too). Not just small bites either. Complained to head office customer services but needless to say the day they "inspected" they said no bugs present! I paid the very top rates too for this room. The dirty carpet could not of helped either. This company does not care... more

No one expects a Travelodge to be the height of luxury, but clean and tidy would be nice. This place felt old and tired, time for a coat of paint all round I think! It was obvious immediately after arrival, the corridors smelt musty and the carpets looked tired. The walls were marked by years worth of being scraped by... more

We had 1 night here to break the airport journey. It was awful. They may do £10 offers but they should warn you that it is worse than a cheap hostel. The door keyhole covers were broken off, the curtains were hanging off and a grim dirty blue, the bin in the bathroom was rusty and the tile grout going black. The... more

We regularly use this tl at saver rate to visit near-by family. This time, the first allocated room had a broken lock. The helpful receptionist immediately found us another room, an old style family room. We tolerated 3 lights not working, very soft and stained mattress, the trickle of shower water, the hole in the mouldy bathroom ceiling and the... more

This hotel is conveniently located near to the M5. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a very friendly and informative welcome. I followed the directions to my ground floor room, along a dreary corridor in need of decoration. The room had all the usual features you would expect including a sofa bed. The bed was soft and hammock-like, and the... more

Firstly, this is a Travelodge and I'll review it as such! Booked an early check in, as I was visiting Taunton to watch the cricket. I wanted to freshen up in the hotel after travelling and before going to the cricket ground. Upon arrival, I think the receptionist was a bit surprised by me saying I'd got an early check... more

Having read all the reviews, it was with some trepidation that we arrived for a two night stay. However, on arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who proudly announced that we would be in a newly refurbished room. It is obvious that only about one third of the rooms have been refurbished and we guess the majority... more

I have a lot of overnight stays and frequently use Premier Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and to a lesser extent, Travelodge. When I booked a room at Taunton I was expecting the usual predictable, clean, anonymous experience. Well that was dispelled as soon as I walked into reception. It was shabby, untidy, barren looking, I felt I was checking into... more
