We stayed at Halse Water Cottage for a week in July whilst our son was playing cricket in Taunton. The property is beautiful and we stayed in the B and B whilst our friends had the self catering cottage. The weather was amazing and so we spent a lot of time sitting out in the evenings (after a hard day... More

Barry and Pauline go out of their way to make you feel very welcome. Home from home comes to mind as you enjoy a private part of the place to yourselves. The house is as spotless as they are charming.

We have just come back from a great stay in the self catering annex. It is a beautiful and very old house but inside the accommodation is comfortable and well equipped. Barry and Pauline are friendly and interesting and made us feel very welcome. The garden is a lovely place to relax and we loved the hens - and their... More

Barry and Pauline are very kind, generous hosts, wonderful cooks, and great company at breakfast! Ask them to show you around their 12th-century home--lots of fascinating architectural details to see.

We were looking for a B&B with a quiet country garden in which my wife could write while I could explore the West Somerset Railway, and we found all these at the Halse Water Cottage. Arriving after a harrowing Friday drive from greater London, we were greeted by the friendly flock of chickens along the creekside of the nicely landscaped... More

We booked our one night stay at very short notice. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and were delighted with our accommodation, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We had full access to the garden which was delightful and so peaceful. Barry and Pauline did everything to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was truly outstanding, the eggs fresh from their... More

Halse Water Cottage was the perfect place to stay whilst visiting friends who live within walking distance of this quaint little guest house. It was quiet and peaceful, just out of the village, down narrow country lanes. Barry and Pauline were very welcoming, the room was comfortable, the Wifi was excellent (a must for my work) and the breakfasts were... More

We had a fantastic stay at halse water. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning, a really idyllic setting with a stream, plenty of places to sit outside and gorgeous gardens. Barry keeps pigs and chickens and we loved being able to feed the pigs in the morning! But the best thing about the place was the hospitality. Barry is... More
