It was the Holiday Inn Express when we stayed but the same place I raved about before it went downhill. A HUGE coachload of males checked in for a stag weekend and they took over the place by being very noisy. We recommended this place to our family who had travelled long distance for a family event. The first night... more

After checking in with all the reviews on TripAdvisor I booked the Premier Inn, Wakefield South. And I wasn't disappointed. This was possibly the most comfortable night I have spent away from home. I have just booked to stay over night for an event at the NEC and I specifically sought out a Premier Inn based on my last experience... more

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times over the last couple of months and it is just off the M1 and adjacent to a pub which serves good food. Breakfast is included and for £60 a night for up to 4 is good value. The hotel is clean, relatively new and has ample parking. Extra pillows were supplied quickly... more

Stayed at the Wakefield PTI for a week, whilst on a training course. It is adjacent to a lovely hotel, which itself is part of Thorne Gardens, a big park south of Wakefield town center. Well away from any main roads so traffic noise is not an issue. If you book a room, ask for one with an even number-this is... more

The hotel was clean and simple as expected, wanted a cheap place to stay close to a venue I was going to. The facilities were as expected and breakfast was very simple. The staff were not too friendly and a little arrogant, but we were making a bit of noise as there were about 30 of staying there. I wasn't... more

Usual chain hotel. Everything clean and tidy as you would expect. Very convienient for M1 for an overnight stay. Continental breakfast nothing to write home about. Only problem was that our room was the first one right behind the reception office and we were disturbed a bit by noise from that area. Still, for a single overnight stay perfectly adequate... more

This hotel is fine - as long as you like boring chain hotels on the outskirts of a city with a soulless chain pub plonked next door as the only attraction! The rooms are clean enough and have got most of things you'd expect and self service continental breakfast was ok, but there's no getting away from the fact that... more

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Very close to the M1, so perfect for breaking up a long journey. Rooms were clean, and of usual HI Express standard. The pub close to the hotel was very welcoming, and the food looked pretty good too. Hotel breakfast was fine. Overall stay was well worth £50. more

I previously stayed in the travellodge 3 miles up the road. However we wanted breakfast this time round. There is ample car parking spaces. The check in is easy and the rooms as you would expect from Holiday Inn Express, clean and spaceous. There is a restaurant right beside the Holiday Inn, which we used on the 3 nights we... more

Everything about this hotel was a pleasure. The staff were unbelievable welcoming considering we arrived very late. They took the time to explain everything to us in great detail, and made sure we were happy throughout our stay. The rooms were amazing value for money, and well thought out. The pub/restaurant next door was unexpectedly fantastic. All in all, one... more
