This is the second time I've stayed in this place, last time in the middle of the winter and even then they had the radiators turned off. I remember sleeping with most the contents of my suitcase on top of my covers to try to keep warm. It was the same case this time around. The rooms are really grotty... more

Arrived after booking weeks ahead, I had advised them that my wife was disabled and would need access to a lift, also it would be nice to have a quiet room as we were tired after a long journey, "not a problem we have a lift". The well scarred and graffitied lift, perhaps imported from Beirut, was having terminal heart... more

Stayed in a lovely clean room and slept all night with no disturbance at all.The owners have to be commended for the bar called Pravda which is excellant and a great place to eat and drink. The location is without doubt the best in the City centre. Ample free parking is available. The staff are so friendly and helpful and... more

This place was a joke. The windows were nailed shut, electrics hanging loose, bed leg was broken, stains on the walls (looked like coffee had been thrown at them), the bedside cabinet fell off the wall and bruised me, there was a fight in the corridor in the middle of the night and our phone wasn't connected so we couldn't... more

We stayed for one night in a double room on Saturday 24 May 2008. We used to live in Wakefield and we chose the hotel for its central location as it is in the city centre and a five minute walk from the railway station. Having read the other reviews we were a bit apprehensive, however we find it fine... more

I have never stayed in a worse hotel, I use hotels almost every week in my work and have never refused to pay before. I arrived very late on Sunday evening, was put in one room where there was a fight outside the window and the window wouldn't close properly, so I asked to be moved to another, which the... more

Booked this hotel on laterooms at a reasonable £54 minus breakfast. Hotel is in central wakefield and I got a space in the free car park. I had booked only an hour earlier but they were expecting me, and I was soon checked in and in my room. The room was a good size but on entering I noticed a... more

Typical 60s small tower block hotel, feeling a bit tired & naff despite the refurbishment. New decor (depending on taste) is a bit tacky - 'glitzy' neon lights in the bar, laminate wooden floors in the bedrooms and a very strange mock chrome 'grab bar' along the bed head... nice! Had the same experience as a previous reviewer with noises... more

im currently staying at the chasley for a week on business. apparently the hotel has recently undergone refurbishment, although I am yet to see evidence of it anywhere but reception! my room is a twin room, one bed a foot lower than the other. Room amenities include: colour tv with no remote, the buttons on which do not work, en... more
