As our title suggests, avoiding the plague in this hotel is easier said than done. The place is disgusting, smelly, filthy, run down and in need of a lot of money spending on it to get it to even a basic standard. When we checked in at the reception it was like the tap room of an 80s working mens... More

Please don't book this hotel even tho it looks like it's cheap yeah it is but it's shocking . I actually found bogies on the wall I booked with booking.com and they ended up giving me £20 back .. The bar and the bar area is horrendous the drinks r warm . The breakfast was ok and it's way out... More

We have used Campanile hotels several times in Europe ...do not confuse the quality of them with this hotel. The room we stayed in was very tired, the bed had seen much better days and so had the rest of the decor. When we arrived there was not hot water or shower gel in the bathroom. The restaurant was not... More

Let me start by saying what you pay is what you get. I paid £40 for one night. I stayed here for one night and was anxious before I checked in due to the mixture of good and bad reviews. The room was clean and tidy, however there are some things that need upgrading, the mattress was pretty damn poor,... More

Stopped in the Campanile while on business in Wakefield as company cutting back on expenses. The hotel is what it says on the tin: a no frills, no stars place to stay. It doesn't pretend other wise and delivers what it promises. Rooms are cheap and cheerful as clean as they can be with the 70's decor. Very American Midwest... More

This is a basic hotel but if you just need somewhere to crash it's fine. German guy at reception very helpful. Not somewhere to take your GF away on a romantic weekend but fine as a place to crash. Expect what you pay for. Reasonable value for money, comparable to a travel lodge

The bathroom & bath were crawling with ants. There was no soap in the dispenser in the shower. Cracked mirror, holes in the shelving & tiles. Filty marks on door. On entering the room it smelt damp. Reception friendly but surprised when we requested more than 1 towel each. Not up to Campanile standard.

After finding this hotel for £60 for two nights, I did not go with expectations of a 5 star establishment. We got exactly what we paid for which has been a good experience. The rooms needed renovating as the carpets were stained and thin and there were stains on the walls. The furniture was chipped but there was tea and... More

Booked in by my company Checked in at reception staff were really friendly Walked into my room and walked straight back out, bathroom was grotty dark room, beds really smelt of something very unpleasant. There wasn't a single plug for me to charge my laptop or do any work in my room. Not ideal at all, get what you pay... More

This would be considered run down if it were a hostel for homeless people. As a hotel, it simply doesn't work. It is in a rundown trading estate, and the condition of the building, and the room I stayed in, was appalling. No matter what rates they offer, find somewhere else. I don't know how they have the nerve to... More
