We had a room in the west wing, which was very well decorated in a modern up to date style complete with flat screen TV. The one small criticism I would make was that there was very little hanging space for clothes just some hooks on the wall although there was plenty of coat hangers. But all in all it... more

We stayed here last weekend and I have to say that having read some of the comments they had received on this site before we went I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Our arrival coincided with that of the wedding party on Saturday afternoon, so as we entered into reception yes it was busy, but we couldn't have been... more

Stayed recently for a friends weddind and expected to be wowed for £190 per night. In truth the room was quite spacious, but very tired, with peeling paint at the window, mould along the bath and the cheapest of cheap toilet paper. The public loo's were a disgrace with no seat in one of the cubicles and the other one had... more

We stayed at Walworth Castle for a friend's wedding. Whilst the staff handled the dinner and reception brilliantly, the accommodation we were staying in left a few things to be desired. Firstly, the price. We were in a standard double room in the so-called 'west wing', The room itself was a touch smaller than a Premier Inn standard and was... more

Stayed here for two nights over Easter weekend. As we needed an extra bed for our son, we had to book into the `superior' four poster rooms in the main castle. I got the feeling we were the only people in the main building for both nights, and it was little spooky opening big creaking doors and walking past suits... more

Great welcome from jean on reception and then given room 28 really nice layout. The main thing we enjoy at walworth is the fact that it is an extremely old building ( 12th cent) but with updated equiptment i.e. flat screen tv, wi-fi,and modern plumbing that works. We ate in the farmers bar and had a super carvery with loads of... more

This hotel is tired and the staff not very attentive. The room I was given was so gloomy - not enough light to read a newspaper. Bathroom had not been cleaned properly. Pillows were VERY hard. No proper instructions for operating the TV but there was fee internet access. The whole place looked a bit down at heel and is... more

When you arrive there is a large wooden door, it's solid so you don't really know what is behind it. Thankfully it's only an old suit of armour. All castle hotels should have suits of armour and character that only comes with centuries of age. So this won't disappoint. If you stay in a castle room expect a draughty room,... more

Great room the bathroom was made out as a medieval tent sounds naff but worked really well. The four poster was big and comfortable. The view looked out the front and at the many party goers who were all enjoying themselves. I would stay again in the same type of room as it was lovely but expensive. Food in the... more
