I stayed here for one night while on business and overall found the hotel to be very pleasant and with friendly and helpful reception staff. The external part of the hotel makes a very good impression - stylish, imposing building. The place has a buzz about it and seemed very full even on a week day. The rooms, while not... more

Having read the reviews, we were looking forward to our 3 night stay. However, on checking in we were told that we had been allocated Room 1. The receptionist said she couldn't understand this because they had had complaints about it being noisy. So we were given Room 14. The route to the room was very convoluted, and there is... more

Stayed on a Dinner bed and breakfast basis for one night on my Birthday. Room was large and spacious and yes the tops of the taps were missing, which didn't really bother me at all as it had no effect on the workings of the taps. Fresh fruit and truffles were left in our room (which we scoffed later). Dinner... more

The hotel is a £5 taxi ride from the station - the service is excellent and the rooms a good size and very clean. The real winner was the early bird Dinner - now available until 10pm - £9.95 for 3 courses. You do need to book a table with the room reservation to make sure though. I will certainly... more

Stayed for one night in a twin room with my son and found the hotel very well presented (obviously it has undertaken an extensive refurb). Reception staff were friendly enough, but after venturing into Darlington for an evening meal (if you are tempted, don't! bother!), I wish that they had made some effort to promote the Hotel's Early Bird Dinner... more

Our stay should have been for five nights in the Executive room over Xmas 08 in a hotel that is described as “Experience a unique blend of luxury accommodation” Well that’s NOT what we found. See pictures After complaining we were moved to a 2nd room that was very old fashioned in design, and had the additional feature of a... more

Hotel Bannatyne is the best Hotel I have stayed in. I have stayed in many Hotels as previous jobs involved travelling but Bannatyne's was the very best! The rooms are spacious, exeptionally clean, modern and well situated. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and treat us like we were the only people to be staying in that hotel on that... more

This is not my first time staying here, we have family in the area and stay at least once a year. I like this hotel but with just a little thought they could turn an average hotel into an excellent hotel My first thoughts this time was that check in (and the reception staff in general) are quite cold. No... more

Although we were booked into a double room we weren't impressed to find that it was two single beds pushed together... The room itself was hot and stuffy even with the fan working constantly. It was also a little disappointing to find there were not Porters to help guests with their luggage. Even though this Hotel could do with a... more
