You walk into the hotel and are wowed by the staircase, but unfortunately you walk past that and head to what can only be described as the servants quarters!! My room was tiny and had two single beds pushed together. The bathroom was basic with towels that had seen better days. The bedding was clean but I was right next... More

The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. Our room was damp the sheets felt damp with signs of it on the walls. When we booked we arranged for two extra beds for the kids, one was made up the other was not and the mattress was very stained. We had to ask housekeeping to sort it as well as... More

On first looks the place looks to be okay however the rooms are run down, the decor is dated and the place has an unclean feel. The gym and spa is very dated and feels unclean. The staff are friendly and food was OK. I would not stay here again as i would think a Premier Inn would be better.

Looks great and visited 20 years ago with fond memories, times have moved on but this place has not, public areas old school, very old school, needs a shake and makeup. I love period places, rustic buildings, stone floors, but with a 70's makeover - sorry hangover, no thanks. So very sorry to the great staff but but I would... More

we found the hotel very clean, relaxing, friendly helpful staff. the food was excellent, well presented ( and quite a good choice of menu, especially the breakfast buffet ). the room was comfortable, warm, clean - hard to fault the experience at all. this is the first time at this hotel - hope it is not the last.

I attended a family member's wedding here last weekend, and had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and professional, the wedding and reception went smoothly and the food was really good. The hotel has a lot of charm and the way the rooms are laid out meant that if the wedding music for the evening reception was too... More

We have just returned from a short break at Blackwell grange and after reading some of the previous experience and reviews from others we were very presently surprised by this hotel. We checked in with no problems and went up to our room which was to the back of the property, which has been adapted from a large country house,... More

If there was a sign on the door saying 'We're saving up for refurbishment, please bear with us", I might have understood Blackwell Grange. It starts well with the drive into the car park, and goes downhill from there. The reception is scruffy, with the inner workings of the hotel on display (well, lots of paperwork), the corridor walls are... More

I didn't have any choice about staying at this hotel but on arrival I was suitably impressed by the look of this hotel. I went into reception to be greeted by pleasant staff who told me where my room was and even asked if I would like help with my luggage but I have to say after the long journey... More

This hotel looks nice from the outside and the reception staff are nice ...Unfortunately this is where the hotel earned it's one rating! Once inside it's incredibly dated, tatty and drab. The hotel is like a 1970' s throw back and it appears it hasn't even been maintained since then. My room was small and dimly lit..not to mention very... More
