Having read some bad reviews , we did not know what to expect from our stay. The place could benefit greatly from being upgraded, but having said that, the room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed our stay there. The pub downstairs, served excellent breakfasts and was all we needed. Would return... More

I saw the reviews and did wonder - but £35 including 20% vat it's not the Savoy but it is value for money -free parking -friendly staff -I slept well and that's what you are paying for here -the room was large enough- the TV worked and it's only a £4 cab from the centre of town

Myself and two business aquaintaces stayed one night Sunday 15th March. We were welcomed by an extremely friendly receptionist, who made us feel very welcome after a 3 hour journey. The triple room we booked was very clean, warm and comfortable and good value for money. Will definitely be making a return visit next time in the area.

It says newly furnished now that's a joke the bathroom furniture is from the 80's with a cracked sink and dirty shower head, the also towels are stained. The hotel says they do breakfast but it's the pub next door that does.

Total dump wouldn't recomend anyone stays here. Rooms are cold radiators don't work the hotel is outdated and could do with a good clean. Personally the rating of 2 out of 5 is generous 0 would be closer to the truth. It is cheap no wonder but I'm sure there are some fantastic guest houses at the same price point... More

We stayed here on 28th Feb 2015 for a night while we went to a party and to be honest couldn't really fault it the weather was cold wet and windy so having a nice warm room to come back to was very welcoming and the staff were very pleasant

I had a great night at the Harrowgate Hill Lodge hotel in Darlington, we arrived early in the day as Chelsea fans travelling to see the Sunderland game and asked if we could book in later, the lady at the desk was very helpful and even said they could make our room a priority to clean so we could book... Chosen as we have two small dogs. Stayed for three nights in a fairly comfortable and good sized twin room. It was clean and room service was good. Breakfast was optional and continental at £2.50. Free car park. About 2 miles from town. The bar next door was OK for meals. Good value budget hotel without frills.

This Has got to be the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in, the room was outdated the bathroom had mould round the bath and the bath had stains in it. complained to the guy on reception who was clearly to drunk to care and he didn't want to know. I emailed the hotel regarding my complaint several times and... More
