My daughter and I stayed for one night at the Harrowgate Hill Lodge as she had come up for a business meeting. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hairdryer in the bathroom was broken which we reported to the management who said this would be attended to. We paid for the continental style breakfast which was nicely served with... More

We were given a room to sleep 3 people that only had one towel in it. The bathroom is outdated which is not an issue for me. My main concern was the cleanliness and health and safety. The bath is not suitable for anyone that is unsteady on their feet. No bath mats provided and a very high ledge for... More

Having read previous reviews we were a little apprehensive about our visit but we need not have worried. We were on a shopping trip so only required a basic room for the night for £29.95 for 2 people we got just that we had a clean room with a comfortable bed, free wifi, tea and coffee and lots of piping... We booked the hotel for my father in law who was coming to visit. Having used the hotel before he was more than happy to stay there. Unfortunately the place has really gone down hill. The room was dirty. The window was screwed shut and as it was a hot night and there was no air conditioning it made it... More

Our group visited Darlington by train for A4 Pacifics celebration so needed a value for money overnight stop. Much in need of refurbishment but provided basics - reasonably clean; a pub next door for a drink and evening meal. Pleasant staff. I would go there again.

Stopped for one night on the way north, because it was handy for the A1 and accepted dogs. Cracked toilet and sink in the en suite, not very clean either. Room was a good size and although close to a main road, was quiet. Would not recommend or stay here again.

Gives the appearance of a very very old Travelodge, the room was not particularly clean, the curtains were torn, you could not close the window, making it very noisy with the traffic from the main road. There was a constant banging from doors around the building as none had door closures or dampers on them, our bath was full of... More

After all the negative reviews, I was very surprised to find this hotel is a lot better than we expected, The hotel is joined onto a sizzling pub, you don't hear any noise for the pub at all, The hotel is very clean, Yes the furniture might be a little dated but I have stayed in more run down hotels,... At long last a Hotel/public building that actually has taken the meaning of Disabled Toilet facilities and implemented them correctly! The disabled toilet on the ground floor is the best in the UK (believe me I have tried a few) and this one gets a full 5 stars from me. Firstly the entrance is accessible easily for wheel chairs, no... More
