Visited for a mini holiday to Dorset, heard so much about this hotel from friends and truly wanted to like it. Location is directly on the beach, beautiful views out across the coast. Sandbanks itself is very quiet, no pubs or restaurants, just a handful of cafes. The beach itself is clean and tonnes of room. The hotel exterior is... More

The location is great, and staff seem nice but it's a complicated hotel with ridiculous prices and little to recommend it beside the beach. Good bath tubs, which is nice, but impossible to get around and the dining options are pretty dire...

Stayed for two nights in late July. Wanted a relaxing beach view room, and the superior double room certainly offered that. Being able to walk straight onto the beach from the outside bar area was great as well. Sandbanks is generally an amazing bit of the south coast, so can't fault that. Unfortunately there's major construction going on at/next door... More

We ended up here as the Haven Hotel had a flood and so the Sandbanks Hotel were kindly able to offer us a room (they're within the same hotel chain). The check-in staff we very nice and made us feel welcome. However, we were a bit 'miffed' at the room. We'd paid a fair bit and were not very impressed... More

stayed one night and glad we didn't book any more as it WAY overpriced! Hotel is extremely dated, lift wasn't working- a pain when you have a baby and buggy, Shower wasn't working so we had to move rooms. Food was ok but again overpriced, there was only 3 options on the menu for a main course. Location is great... More

Very dated and worn out, waited over 1 hour for lunch, and later staff forgot our tea order, living in the past. It could be so much better, how sad. The bedroom balcony had floor tiles that were turned up at the corners, a new lift was being fitted (what a time to pick!) so had to walk outside to... More

We booked this hotel as we had an early ferry crossing to Jersey. We only wanted one night but had to book two. Disappointing hotel for the room rate charged. Our room was spacious but not much better quality than a Travelodge. There was no room safe. The hotel felt quite dated in places. The Spa was not at this... More

polly1012 has said it all really and I couldn't agree more. One tip: don't tip! I did massively on my first night and it didn't get me any better service in the bar or the restaurant. And they added gratuity onto my bill anyway.

Yes the hotel is dated and yes some of the carpets need cleaning or replacing. However the staff are lovely and our room was spotlessly clean. The only grouch I have about the room is that it had a lovely big balcony but owing to the roof of the ground floor extension, the wall of the balcony was too high... More
