An excellent hotel which is within walking distance of the town centre pubs and restaurants and has plenty of car parking spaces. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated although the TV was a bit small. The staff are very entertaining.

I have been using Archways Lodge for the last 12+ months, staying on average one night per month as i have to be in Stevenage for work. I have tried a few different rooms, and they are all different but one thing they all have in common is how really clean this place is. Given that they cater for business... More

There is plenty of room at the front of the hotel for parking and staff at reception were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We were in room 18 which had an elephant 'theme' - as a theme, its done subtly and in good taste. We were provided with a welcome basket containing tea/coffee et al as well... More

My partner and I stayed here one night to go to a nearby wedding. The room was everything we needed it to be, clean, comfy and with helpful additions like an ironing board and iron just down the corridor. The bathroom was a little small, but did the job. Our room had an animal theme, complete with cuddly tiger!

Several of us stayed here for a family wedding, and in conversation with others, think we got the best deal. It's easy walking distance from the Old Town centre, which is where everything was happening, and the owners were really good at and willing to give clear directions. It is idiosyncratic, to say the least! Tiny bathrooms, small rooms generally,... More

We stayed here for one night on our way to Toft in Cambridge from Somerset so this was our little pit-stop and rest. We didn't pay very much at all, in fact I think its the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed in but was one of the cleanest and friendliest. Parking is plentiful, its easy to find, the hotel feels... I use this family run hotel quite frequently to visit family in the area. the hotel offers free parking, free wifi and conveniently situated to centre of town but away from any noise. you get a warm welcome from reception and the hotel is just so clean. it's very obvious that the owners take so much pride in it. unfortunately,... Stayed here for 1 night for a work night out, and was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I received a very friendly welcome, and was shown to an immaculate room, with fantastic facilities for the cost of the stay. The room was very clean, the standard tea tray was upgraded with crisps and oj, which was a nice touch.... More

I found this hotel by looking for a place with very good reviews at a reasonable price. This hotel met my criteria and even though it was a 50 mile round trip out of our way, it looked be be worth it. It absolutely was. Possibly the best place I have ever stayed, at one of the lowest prices. Has... More

Stayed as a couple for one night as just passing through. The room was lovely - bright, clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Given that the night before we had spent a very uncomfortable night in a chain hotel, I find myself wishing that this hotel could be cloned and put all around the country. John,... More
