We chose this hotel as my husband was going to a seminar at Knebworth Park so it was a good location for that. The room was very small so my husband kept bashing his head on the TV which was on the wall! However, it was spotlessly clean and had a fantastic shower. The walls were very thin in the... More

We chose this hotel because the Stevenage Old Town location suited us for our visit this time and because we are a little fed up of chain hotels which are often have noisy late night residents plus all the New Town hotels seemed to have remote car parking arrangements. Our room (number 3) was not overly large but very comfortable... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2014

Stayed one night Sunday 7 December. The room was slightly small and probably better suited to a single person but notwithstanding that it was lovely and clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and there was a good sized bathroom with a nice shower. Breakfast was cooked exactly to our liking and will definitely return when we're next in the area.

I have now been staying at the Abbington for about 4 weeks and can say that this continues to shine and leave me with a feeling of home from home that the big chains just can't match. Rooms are great and the shower is a marvel. You will understand what I mean if you get here. Service is personal, but... More

Nice guest house with small but tidy rooms, bathroom was good size and clean. Located on a busy road in Stevenage I surprisingly didn't hear the traffic at night and guest house has a surprisingly largish parking area around back. The only downside I saw at this hotel was the walls of the room; it was obvious the bracket holding... More

I have stayed at this hotel several times now. It's nice to stay in a place with a bit of personality. The rooms are clean and well stocked with toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits. There is a restaurant and bar and the breakfast is provided free of charge. The breakfast is freshly cooked and the best I have had compared... More

My partner and I had a lovely nights stay over the weekend for a family gathering. We were in a room in the detached bungalow at the back of the building; the room was lovely - it had a double bed and a single, so plenty of room. The bathroom was equally nice with added extras like soaps, shaving kits... More

We searched onlin, the sight looked perfect and easy to follow, we then phoned up and spoke to Frank who left us feeling confused . had we got onsuit or not, were we in a bungalow? We needed a room so we took pot look. Upon arrival the B &B looked fabulous, a beautiful floral display and although I don't... More

My room was in an annex (actually a house behind the main hotel) and it was clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities. Varied selection for breakfast, lots available. Friendly breakfast and reception staff. Only negative, curtains are a bit thin, let a lot of light in, other than that it was great!

I found 3 dead spiders 1 moth and 1 live spider in my bed. There were spiders hanging in the corners of the room. There were dead bugs in the tiny bathroom. Loads of mould in the shower. The toilet was dirty. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls everywhere. All the doors in our room had dents in. While... More
