Great one-night stay - though I'd happily have stayed several, due to the handy location of this TL. Noise from the A12 is inevitable, but hey: it's a Travelodge: they're located on main roads! A nice clean room, with a lovely big bed, generous personal bathroom facilities, and if the road noise is _too_ much, I always take my earplugs.... More

I had realised that we were going for a budget hotel over Christmas but my goodness this hotel is dreadful,I had added pictures to show what I mean,damp black mould and bathroom door cannot shut tight so ended up with my 1 year old trapping his fingers in it,I would never stay in a travelodge again after this,

I don't feel you can really knock Travelodge for the price but there are good, bad and indifferent and this one fit into the indifferent category. A convenient stop prior to catching the morning ferry to the Hook of Holland from Harwich. It was not as bad as some reviewers have reported and quite clean, albeit rather noisy. It was badly marred by the fact that the Little Chef adjacent is now closed and only sandwiches are available from the garage.

Thankfully we only stayed here one night on a return trip via Harwich. The room (no 10) was very big. That's really the only positive comment about the room. The mattress wasn't good - we kept rolling into the middle of the bed. The bathroom was very dated with black mildew and a ghastly soap dish. Really not very nice.... More
