I stayed twice so far and was pleasantly surprised as it turned out better than i was fearing. The staff are very friendly and offer good service. Food and drink is fine. On my first visit i stayed in a lovely room which had a fantastic seperate shower and large bed and nice sofa. However the second time i stayed... more

I have been using this hotel for quite a while now as it is perfectly located for business reasons. Service has always been excellent and now that the hotel has been refurbished, the place looks great. Will definitely use again. more

Stayed at Novotel Ipswich for 2 nights in May. Used to live in Suffolk. Pleasantly surprised at size of room, clean, comfortable; excellent TV - looked very new. Friendly staff, food very nice, but rather expensive (especially breakfast) Everything clean, would stay again on the rate of £59 per night. Situation perfect for me, short walk into town, no roads... more

Loaction excellent, two minutes walk to the cinema, resturants, night club etc. Ten minutes walk to Ipswich football stadium, and only about the same walking distance from train station so very central. Also excellent were the reception team both during the day and late at night, very friendly and happy. The hotel was having a upgrade(not rooms though) which was... more

I spent one night here on business 5 May and was very disappointed by my room which was so dated and basic. I spent £98.00 for Bed and breakfast the same as I had done the night before at The Swan in Lavenham and there was no comparison (see my review). However the service was excellent and its location central... more

Stayed 1 night on business. Check in was fine. Room was a good size and bed comfortable. Bathroom and toilet not up to expected standard. Sink plug contraption did not work and plastic glasses which make the place seem really cheap, although the rates were relatively high! TV did not work for free channels so hotel offered free use of... more

For over thirty years we have stayed in Novotels throughout Europe and have always known what to expect - a light, bright, clean and efficient hotel, very French/modern, a bit stark rather than English comfy, perhaps. Like most Accor brands, Novotels (at least in Europe) conform rigorously to a standard, and thus there ar no surprises. The Ipswich Novotel had... more

You can't get a more bog standard, basic, tired, overpriced hotel than this. It is mediocre to the extreme. Talk about rip-off britain ;this sort of place personifies it. Breakfast £12.50 extra, parking £5 extra. Everything is milked for the last penny, and you get a very very ordinary room. Wi-fi never works. A scam. Avoid. more

I stayed at the Novotel for a couple of nights in September 2007. It's very conveniently located - just at the edge of the city center, and easy to locate, on a major junction into town. However - having stayed at another hotel slightly higher up the rankings of Ipswich Hotels, I can't really say that much complementary about it.... more

A typical city centre Novotel Totally lacking in character but with fairly comfortable rooms with tea, coffee and the inevitable plastic cups which make the place look cheap. Breakfast was just about OK but the eggs were tasteless and the bacon & sausages were cheap quality. OK if you can't find anywhere else to stay. more
