Nice old building but it gives the impression that it is set up for those on benefits. Tatty old film star posters were like a step back in time. We used Ipswich as a base to look at attractions such as Sutton Hoo and the Maltings at Snape. The hotel is only 10 minutes' walk from the town centre. Had read other reviews on this small hotel. It proved to be welcoming, clean and well decorated. Beds comfortable, quiet despite overlooking major road. Breakfast set us up well. Much better choice and value than chain motels.
