We booked 2 nights here today and yesterday. My father was taken I'll as we were about to set off which meant a very quick journey to the hospital, without any thought of the day's plans. My father passed away at 8pm last night and so again did not think to contact the hotel - as arrangements for his funeral... More

We have just spent 2 nights at Elsinore - Family included 2 twin Rooms and 2 single rooms on first floor. The rooms were all close together - New Towels every day - Bed made - and Rooms cleaned - Tea/Coffee sachets etc were topped up. On arrival Receptionist on duty at time did not seem very friendly - but... More

Just spent 3 nights at Elsinore, paid for in advance with Booking.com. Should have walked out immediately and gone elswhere, but didn't want to have to pay again. Hotel a disgrace - filthy, stained carpets everywhere. All walls and paintwork were badly stained and scratched and needed repainting. Radiator on first landing looked as if was about to fall off... Wow I haven’t seen a place like this since the last time I watched Hill Street Blues, we recently stayed in a hotel in Bradford that doubled up as a homeless hostel and I didn’t think things could ever worse! The exterior of the hotel hides the shabby interior very well. There is no working lift and tiny stained corridors... More

21st August, 2014. Have just stayed 3 nights and if we had another place to go too we would have. The whole hotel is dirty and in serious need of refurbishment. Definitely not the same as what you see in the adverts. Carpets, walls, bathroom all very sad and dirty. Shower broken and held together with tape with a curtain... More

Walked into the hotel to be met with staff who had a basic grasp of the English language, and a strange indescribable smell which lingered all over the hotel like some giant rotting carcass of an unknown animal. The carpets looked like they had been taken out of a drugs den and laid here, the stains where everywhere. You can... More

The location of the hotel is excellent. When we approached reception the girl never looked up until I spoke to say we have booked a room. She definitely needs to learn some people skills! The hotel is very shabby and in great need of redecoration. The furniture in the room is very basic and our sink never had a plug... More

Ok I only paid £42 to Late rooms for this hotel, but I've paid less than that for Travelodge etc and had a lovely clean room. The room was on the second floor at the back of the hotel overlooking the bins. The room had a dirty red carpet, very old, scratched furniture, and a filthy shower curtain. The bedding... More

These reviews would have put me off staying here - however for £50 in School Holiday time for a twin sea view. It was absolutely FINE. Staff were ok. People expect far to much for their pennies. The room is basic, but had hot water, TV and everything you'd need for a 1 night stay with a perfect view. It's... More
