I booked a 5 day trip with National Holidays to this hotel .I was rather concerned when I read the reviews but had an open mind. I was in a single room which was damp with the paper just about to peel off didn't use the wardrobe as layer of dust on shelf. smelt iffy and I insisted on being... More

We recently stayed at the Grand to help my mother relive her memories of previous happy holiday stays there with my father before he passed away . The hotel is ideally located with a good entertainment package each evening . After that there is not much else good to say the hotel needs a complete overhaul . Every where is... More

The Grand Hotel, well what can I say, the hotel is falling to bits, every floorboard squeaks, it looks like the time it seen a lick of paint must have been about 30 years ago. The room was awful, I would mark the room 0.3 out of 10, the carpets are threadbare the ceiling was full of cobwebs, the walls... More

Check in is at 16:00 check out 10:00 extra £15 for late check out. We asked for late check out and paid for it. At 09:45 after a tap on the door a lady walked in, I didn't even have time to cover up or hide. No apology at reception or refund. The hotel is shabby. I will be using... More

its certainly not our hotel of choice. However it was a very Grand Hotel in its day. Which is in need of a major make over. It was clean but well worn. Staff were fantastic and you have to understand with the price also brings a certain caliber of clientele. But the hotel cannot be held responsible for them. They... More

After ready the reviews before we left we wondered what we were letting ourselves in for! We need not have worried! If you are expecting a sparkling hotel with all mod cons and up to date decor don't book here! If you are looking for a traditional British seaside hotel with very helpful friendly staff than yes this is the... More

After reading reviews of the hotel, we didn't know what to expect. We thought we might be given a basic, small, dated room, that was adequate for our needs. What we got was a huge surprise. A very large, modern, clean family room with a Jacuzzi en-suite bathroom. Excellent value for money. The views were brilliant. If we had stayed... More

After reading some of the reviews on here, we were expecting Fawlty Towers! This hotel is great. Typical seaside hotel, in a prime location. We had a sea view family room overlooking the pier. Apart from the early morning wake up call from the seagulls, it was quiet, comfortable, clean and had jacuzzi bath! Breakfast was nice, not rushed, although... More
