We have recently been on a great Trains and Castles holiday in north Wales using this Hotel as a base. The food being of good quality and varied for each of the dinners we had. The breakfasts did vary in being slow and sometimes the toast getting cold before served. The staff were always very willing on most things requested,... More

The food is exceptional and the service great. In a good central location for amenities and local buses. What let it down for me was the bedrooms. Quite a reasonable size but with enormous furniture which meant stubbed toes and bruised legs. I suppose they are trying to recreate a Victorian atmosphere but for me it did not work. No... More

Just got back from a short break at this hotel. Cannot get over the amazing food we had every single night! Dinner consists of five courses and every one most enjoyable! Breakfast was also very good indeed.

Quaint hotel, very clean, and excellent food: The twin superior room looked onto the side street and the only noise was the incessant seagulls' squawk, which did disturb our night's sleep. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the only complaint would be the shower, firstly it was the most intricate contraption to get it to work, and when it... More

As others have mentioned an old style hotel with good service. Our 'superior' room was a reasonable size with a good bathroom and very clean. It did face onto the road and with the windows open due to the hot weather we had the road noise was intrusive. We had to close the windows which made the room uncomfortably hot.... More

We stayed here with Great Rail Journeys and were impressed with the quality of the food in the restaurant and had to exercise great restraint as there were so many delicious courses! The chef was extremely helpful with providing garlic free options for me. The hotel steps you back in time for an old fashioned style relaxing break. (Maybe go... More

We have just had another lovely holiday at The Dunoon, we had a large bright room at the front, so comfortable and spotlessly clean, the food has always been excellent but just got better, nothing is too much trouble and everyone makes you feel so welcome, can't wait for our next holiday there a bit later in the year.

Lovely peaceful hotel with fabulous food, yum yum!!! This is the second time we have stayed & wont be the last. The location of the hotel is fabulous, close to the beach & the shops and yet still quiet.
